Home harvested duck eggs to dye for Easter makes it all the more special of a tradition. We used a combination of dip dying and rice dying methods and the kids came up with some pretty beautiful color combinations.
Happy Easter all!

Sinful Partiality Strikes Again...
Welp, here we are again. Another video snippet. All the public scrutiny. Aimed at law enforcement on all levels. And the logical implications therein insinuated that incriminate all officers for finding themselves in a life-or-death situation and facing the dreaded decision of who comes home to thei...

This dear daughter of mine has been dreaming of this day ever since she found out she was getting a sister. She's spent months perusing ideas on Pinterest for things she could make for this baby, and after much indecision, finally made up her mind to make the sweetest little bunny lovey.

After the difficult decision of choosing the perfect fabric, she finally found what she was wanting. Drawing inspiration from a few different ones we saw online, we drew up our own pattern, and with some trial and error and a few alterations, this is what we ended with. She's already made clear this bunny better be packed and ready to come along to the hospital to meet this baby.

Better a late than never, but for my boys' gift, I made them each a banner to display their many badges and patches on. Pretty simple space-saving way to get them on display instead of laying all around the house. The badges easily pin on or off and the patches are pretty simple to tack on in case they ever decide they want them to be taken off and put on something else.

Shout out to my daughter, who has been doing a bit of her own . She custom crocheted this cute Christmas tree ornament for a friend and has been hard at work crafting some other Christmas creations. That apple sure didn't fall far from this tree!

It's been a rather last minute cram, but I've been back at it with the tradition of a custom mom-made gift for each of my kids.
Has my daughter had younger siblings for a decade plus? Yes. Has she dreamed of a little sister her whole life. Also yes. So getting to be a Big Sis to a Lil Sis just hits different, and I don't doubt she'll wear this hat proclaiming her newfound title with honor.
This was probably one of my favorites to make so far. (When sudden inspiration hits you at the craft store, sometimes you've got to give it a listen!) This was a fun mixture of trial and error with blending some new and old techniques but I think it turned out lovely.

To Hobble
A thought came to me recently. It was about the practice of hobbling a horse, of all things. And then another thought came, but first let me explain a hobble. And no, Iām not talking about the gimpy walk we all do after we stub our toe or do something to make that old knee injury flare up. (Though...

The tradition continues of homemade costumes. Fox, bald eagle, and a guy wearing the full armor of God.

A shooter recently snuffed the life out of someone many of us found inspiring. I daresay, many of us aspired to be able to carry our convictions about faith and truth as confidently and skillfully as Charlie Kirk did. His assassin undoubtedly thought he was doing the world a favor, ridding it of a m...

Reflections on what we've learned the last few years.
Did We Learn?
Recently, my social media memories popped up with the following status from five years ago, fairly early on following the death of George Floyd and the ensuing riots."My heart has been so heavy mulling over the recent circumstances, particularly those in Minneapolis. Please hear me loud and clear th...
