Dear California Trails User,
The California Natural Resources Agency and California State Parks are conducting a statewide survey to better understand how Californians use, experience, and value trails and outdoor spaces.
You are receiving this email because you completed the survey or signed up to receive updates through CaliforniaTrailsSurvey.com. As the survey deadline approaches, we are asking for your help to spread the word. The survey closes this Monday, June 8, and we want to hear from as many Californians as possible before then.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Complete the survey at CaliforniaTrailsSurvey.com, if you have not already done so.
Share the survey link with family, friends, neighbors, and community groups.
Follow California State Parks and the California Natural Resources Agency on social media: Instagram , X , YouTube
Share posts about the California Trails Survey on your Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok story.
WHY THIS MATTERS
We want the survey results to reflect the full diversity of California, including different communities, regions, backgrounds, and lived experiences. The more widely the survey is shared, the more representative and useful the results will be. Your networks can help us reach people whose voices might otherwise be missed.
HOW RESULTS WILL BE USED
Survey findings will inform two major statewide efforts:
Climate Bond grant criteria, helping direct funding toward outdoor recreation priorities that reflect community needs across California
Recreational Trails Plan update, helping shape the future of trail planning, investment, and outdoor access statewide
The survey takes as little as 5 minutes to complete and is open to all California residents. Every response and every share helps build a stronger, more complete picture of how Californians use and value trails and outdoor spaces.
Thank you for helping broaden participation in this important statewide effort.
Complete and Share the Survey! ‼️dari

ROAD WORK TO START APRIL 20, 2026, TO CONSTRUCT THE PONDEROSA ROAD BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT IN SHINGLE SPRINGS
El Dorado County’s Department of Transportation (Transportation) will be performing road work beginning April 20, 2026, and continuing through approximately August 2026, as part of the Ponderosa Road Bicycle and Pedestrian Improvements Project.
The work will require occasional shoulder and lane closures during which motorists should expect delays. These closures are necessary to ensure motorist and worker safety while the County’s contractor adds class II bike lanes and pedestrian sidewalk improvements on Ponderosa Road from Foxwood Lane to Mineshaft Lane.
Motorists are advised to slow down through work zones and allow extra time to arrive at their destinations. Project improvements are planned to minimize impacts during school-peak-hour traffic, with most improvement activities and working hours extending into the summer season.
For questions regarding this project, please contact the County’s Transportation main line at (530) 621-5900 (select Option 3 for Engineering).
