Congratulations to Jessica Kraft on her recognized and documented time for the El Dorado Trail on the world's Fastest Known Time (FKT) website. Jessica’s FKT report, photos and stats are posted below. Kudos Jessica!
“Report
I ran 36.8 miles of the El Dorado Trail in El Dorado County, California starting at 7:30 AM on May 29th. Jeff Freeman was my photographer and crew, he supplied me with water, snacks and lip balm 8 times throughout the course. This was my first ultra distance and it went faster and better than expected, as I ran nearly the whole time across craggy dirt paths, railroad tracks, pavement and several streams. I had two very long recovery stops that slowed down my total time, but overall I made great splits and did not suffer injuries while running. “

Dear California Trails User,
The California Natural Resources Agency and California State Parks are conducting a statewide survey to better understand how Californians use, experience, and value trails and outdoor spaces.
You are receiving this email because you completed the survey or signed up to receive updates through CaliforniaTrailsSurvey.com. As the survey deadline approaches, we are asking for your help to spread the word. The survey closes this Monday, June 8, and we want to hear from as many Californians as possible before then.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Complete the survey at CaliforniaTrailsSurvey.com, if you have not already done so.
Share the survey link with family, friends, neighbors, and community groups.
Follow California State Parks and the California Natural Resources Agency on social media: Instagram , X , YouTube
Share posts about the California Trails Survey on your Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok story.
WHY THIS MATTERS
We want the survey results to reflect the full diversity of California, including different communities, regions, backgrounds, and lived experiences. The more widely the survey is shared, the more representative and useful the results will be. Your networks can help us reach people whose voices might otherwise be missed.
HOW RESULTS WILL BE USED
Survey findings will inform two major statewide efforts:
Climate Bond grant criteria, helping direct funding toward outdoor recreation priorities that reflect community needs across California
Recreational Trails Plan update, helping shape the future of trail planning, investment, and outdoor access statewide
The survey takes as little as 5 minutes to complete and is open to all California residents. Every response and every share helps build a stronger, more complete picture of how Californians use and value trails and outdoor spaces.
Thank you for helping broaden participation in this important statewide effort.
Complete and Share the Survey! ‼️dari
