Yesterday we got to bring down a trip special to my heart. The Ronan High School's, Montana environmental science class came down the river. This class is now taught by our very own Jack Whittle. I took this class as a Freshman in 2004, while Chris Briske was teaching it and Al Onsager was the river manager for FRC as well as teaching at RHS. This is an amazing class that gets kids engaged in outdoor activities and focuses on conservation of our environment.

We will be hosting our very first R2 Clinic on Saturday September 12th and 13th. This Clinic will consist of 4 trips down Buffalo Rapids practicing the skills and techniques required for consistent successful R2 trips. You can bring your own partner or paddle with other students and instructors. This class runs $299 and raft rentals are available for the class. Time is running out to sign up for the last Beginner Rowing School of 2026. Starting this Saturday 8/22 at 8:30 for $299 you recieve 6 hours of classroom instruction, then lake based drills and maneuvers on the first day. Sunday 8/23 we will embark on a full day flatwater float practicing the skills learned in class so far. This class is perfect for anyone wanting to get into rafting, floating, or even fishing. 7 seats are left in the class with 3 rentals still available, rentals run $50 for the weekend. He has fallen in love with rafting and it has been a blessing watching this young man grow and come out of his shell.
