Scary run 5K by Why Racing Events . Fun event with so many people with cool costumes, but a little challenging for Arya on gravel. We took it easy and had fun. Why racing means it’s family.

Hood To Coast Relay Heroes on the Run 5K. The whole family ran/walked. It’s not about distance or time, it’s about healthy living through movement. It’s about the people behind these events who treat us like family. It’s about the running community who are more than friends. It’s about the start line excitement (you need to scroll to the right for Arya’s video). The running community brings us to the start line again and again.

Today, we want to share what belief, discipline, and hard work can accomplish.

In 2022, we participated in the Portland Marathon presented by Nike Running half for the first time. It was Arya’s first ever race of any distance. Together, we completed the course in 4 hours and 27 minutes. That day marked the beginning of our journey.

We returned to the Portland Half Marathon in 2023, better prepared and more confident. We finished in 3 hours and 4 minutes. Our goal was to break the 3-hour mark, and although we missed it by a few minutes, we left inspired and motivated to keep improving.

This year, we completed the race in 2 hours and 44 minutes.

For us, every race presents unique challenges. Arya is fully dependent, which means we need to make frequent stops for hydration and fueling. The race is also large and crowded, requiring us to slow down at times because of congestion. But that’s okay. We do not race for time. We train to become stronger, healthier, and better versions of ourselves.

We participate in races to celebrate our freedom of movement. We train so we can stand at the starting line and push the boundaries of what we believe is possible.

What people don’t see, hours and hours of training, set backs, many doctors and therapy appointments. More than anything, we hope people look at us and say:”If they can do hard things, so can we.” Because the greatest limits we face are often the ones we place on ourselves.

“Believe, work for it and make it happen.”

Today is a celebration of our amazing Arya. Every milestone she reaches, every challenge she faces, and every smile she shares reminds us just how strong, brave, and extraordinary she is.

Arya teaches us that courage comes in many forms, and that determination, love, and joy can shine brighter than any obstacle. We are so proud of the incredible person she is becoming and grateful for the light she brings to our lives every single day.

On World Cerebral Palsy Day, we celebrate Arya, her journey, and all the unique strengths that make her truly special. 💚

Sharing some photos from this weekend’s Portland Marathon presented by Nike Running half, her recent triumph.

Arya crossing the finish line of the Portland Marathon presented by Nike Running Half 2026. Behind that moment are months of training, challenges overcome, hard work, self-belief, moments of doubt, and an emotional journey that few see.

After 13.1+ miles, the smile tells the whole story. Every finish line is a celebration of how far you’ve come and a reminder that every ending marks the start of a new adventure. 🏃‍♀️💙🏁

Arya continues to break barriers. Today she completed her 3rd Portland Marathon presented by Nike Running and hit her half marathon PR shaving 20 mins from her previous best. We also discovered she was the first of her age group division. We don’t set any goals or any limitations define her destination. She continues her journey in her own way and writes her own story.

Thank you Portland for cheering for Arya, you were amazing! Thanks to all volunteers and spectators who came out to support and cheer all the runners.

Portland Marathon presented by Nike Running expo and bib pick up done. It was really crowded and we had fun. In this huge crowd someone walked up to Arya and told her, “I know you and you are awesome.” This made our day.

Arya returns for her 3rd Portland half marathon after 3 years.

Portland we have one request, “CHEER FOR ARYA!”

Recently team I’mPossible was featured by & trail by Why Racing Events. I am sharing the original post in our page. We are incredibly honored!

“We're so excited to share the story of Arya + Atikur-a father-daughter duo who show us what it truly means to believe in "I'mPossible."

They are a reminder that disability does not mean the end of possibility-and that having a child with disabilities doesn't mean the dreams stop. Sometimes, you simply discover a different way forward.

Together, they've found purpose in chasing finish lines, finding community, and watching Arya grow into her own strengths, her own joy, and her own version of what's possible. We love seeing them out on the course at every WHY Racing event, bringing their smiles, high-fives, and unstoppable energy with them.

Arya + Atikur, you are an incredible part of our community and a huge part of what makes WHY Racing + Road & Trail what it is.

Your story reminds us that there isn't just one way to move forward, one way to grow, or one way to cross a finish line.

There's possibility in every direction.

Let's keep building a community where every athlete-and every family—has the opportunity to find their own finish line. Because "I'mPossible" isn't just a motto. It's a truth we all need to hear.”

As we’ve mentioned before, we don’t have a formal training plan for Arya. Everything we do is guided by observation, experience, and learning what works best for her. That said, we’re currently developing a race-day guide to help make our process more streamlined while also giving Arya more opportunities to communicate and participate throughout the experience. We’ll be piloting this for the first time at our next race, the Portland Marathon presented by Nike Running Half, and we’re excited to see how it works!

If you’d like to encourage Arya on race day, we’d love for you to leave her a short voice message using the link below. Simply click the link and select a mile marker. When we reach that specific mile during the race, your message will automatically play through Arya’s speaker. Hearing words of encouragement from friends, family, and supporters along the course will give Arya an extra boost and make the day even more special. Thank you for being part of her journey! ❤️
