Jackknife / Overhead 🔥
Teaching this one in real time to a class — and this exercise asks for SO much control in the body!
The Jackknife is all about strength, precision, and control… not momentum.
Reformer set up:
2 Red Springs
Headrest flat
Starting position:
Legs and arms reaching straight up
Movement sequence:
1️⃣ Press arms firmly into the mat
2️⃣ Roll over with control
3️⃣ Jackknife 🆙
4️⃣ Keep reaching into your arms as you slowly roll down
5️⃣ Lower the legs as the arms lift
Think length & control the entire time. The challenge is getting up and over and how much control you can maintain coming back down. 👊
