Thanks to First Five Shasta and the Shasta Family YMCA we are able to offer a Brand New fitness class for women in any stage of pregnancy and also post partum! I’m so excited for this opportunity to add to our women’s health community.
This class is free to the community starts January 7th at 8:15 am and it will be a 45 minute class
Please share with any women in your lives who you think might benefit from this class. It’s not only about fitness, it’s also about community and support.

It's coming up fast! Sign up to run with me and Sharon Howland 2 times a week for 8 weeks. It's a really great way to start your day and in the intermediate group, we go explore some of our other local area trails, paved and dirt!
The hardest part of this group is getting out of bed in the morning. The rest is mostly fun! ;)

We start up next Tuesday!! I am so excited for this beginners group. I have some strengthening exercises for our ankles, knees, hips, and glutes that will help us stay strong in our runs!

One of my favorite couples! 😊 It has been such a privilege to teach the chair strength class. I’ve met some truly wonderful people that I can call my friends.
My husband and I love everything about the Shasta Family YMCA—the number and variety of classes for every age and ability, the cleanliness of the facilities, the quality of the instructors, and the inclusiveness and kindness of the entire staff. I am a longtime yoga participant, and when Abby’s Chair Strength class was first offered in February 2023, we both became faithful attendees. We plan our Mondays and Fridays around these incredible sessions that include elements of cardio, strength building with leg weights, dumb bells, and other devices, balance, flexibility, and even mental exercise. We felt ourselves gaining strength and endurance, but after a recent bone scan, I was most delighted to find that my bone density had increased and the chance of fracture percentages had been reduced since my last study. I attribute this improvement to the Chair Strength class—because that is the only thing that I had altered in the past two years. Plus, it’s fun! Abby is a supportive and professional instructor, and we have gained many friendships through the camaraderie she encourages.
