Reston Runners has 250+ members of all ages and athletic skill levels who share the enjoyment of running and walking.

We are a proud member of the Road Runners Club of America and one of the largest running clubs in northern Virginia.

Snapshots of our September so far

Join us on Tuesday mornings at 7am and 8am at the Wiehle Pupatella parking lot with fellow runners and walkers. A few runners start at 7 am, with the larger cohort meeting at 8 am. Afterward, enjoy a delicious breakfast at McDonald’s!

Our recent Saturday run started from Herndon High School and followed the Sugarland Run Trail! Many runners braved the 8 total stream crossings along this course. Thank you to Joe and Gabriele O'Bryan for graciously welcoming members to their home for a post-run potluck breakfast.

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ REGISTRATION OPEN FOR 2026 AIRPORT RUN! ✈️

Join Reston Runners (RR) on Sunday, October 4 for our iconic annual tradition! We’ll meet at the Reston North Commuter Parking Lot at the corner of Sunset Hills Road & Wiehle Avenue at 6:30 AM, then RR will arrange rides for everyone to Reagan National Airport (DCA). From there, we’ll run together along the Potomac and choose the distance that works best for you!

📍 Choose your adventure:
• ~4 miles: DCA → along the Potomac → Roosevelt Island → Rosslyn. Take the Silver Line back to Wiehle-Reston East.
• ~10 miles: Continue along the Custis Trail → W&OD Trail → East Falls Church Metro. Silver Line back to Wiehle.
• ~16 miles: Continue on the W&OD to Greensboro Station via Gallows Road. A challenging and very respectable distance!
• 22+ miles: Run all the way back to Reston North! An excellent long-distance training run for your fall marathon, including MCM. 🏅

💧🚻 Runner support: There are multiple water and bathroom stops along the route, plus RR will have a water, Gatorade & food stop just before the Rt. 7 bridge in Falls Church.

Whether you're looking for a fun 4-mile adventure or a serious 22-mile training run to cap your peak training weeks, there's an option for everyone!

Join us next Thursday, September 3rd for an exciting joint run with Light Horse Track Club! The run will start from our usual PR Run & Walk Reston Town Center location at 6pm. Come out to rep the Reston Runners and make new connections with a local running team!

Thursday evening crew narrowly avoided the rain and enjoyed a cooler evening on the trails. And since it was the third Thursday of the month, we enjoyed a happy hour at Crafthouse!

The club’s popular Youth in Motion (YIM) program wrapped up on Sunday morning with races at Lake Fairfax Park for each age group. We received many grateful comments from parents whose children loved the program. We sincerely appreciate the dedication of program directors Joan Koss, Jeannie Johns and Katie Koss, as well as the 59 coaches, who all did so much to make the program special for the 209 children who participated! Consider joining us again next summer for this outstanding program!
