To the Pointe. Dance Studio

To the Pointe. Dance Studio Our goal is to provide quality dance instruction, a positive approach and a contagious love of dance.

We hope that all of our dancers, no matter their age, will be inspired to explore new ways to be creative and to gain increased self-esteem and confidence. Our mission is to instill passion and discipline that will stay with your dancer throughout their life and generate moments that will make memories for the entire family. We have a low maximum teacher to student ratio so that our programs may address each child individually. Our aim is to build confidence and love of learning, giving students a solid foundation for a healthy and happy life. Our longtime teachers and staff are dedicated to helping each dancer discover their unique potential - academically, socially, and interpersonally. We invite you to learn more about us and to visit our studio soon. Visit us at tothepointedancestudio.com for more information.

Congratulations to our 2026-2027 Opal Company Members and Opal Apprentices! These dancers are part of an Intensive program with class requirements of Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, and weekly Opal Rehearsal classes. Many of them also take additional styles such as Pointe, Hip Hop, Tap, Acro, POMS, and Irish!! Dancers must audition, complete applications & agreements, and set examples as academic & character role models while sharing their passion for the performing arts with our community. Several of the following dancers are also members of our Junior & Secondary chapters of the National Honor Society for Dance Arts. Keep an eye out for them at community events throughout the year, along with our Diamond & Pearl Company Members!

Congratulations Payton!!

Meet Payton Leroy, winner of the Plein Air Competition for her beautiful painting of the Tidewater Inn! 🎨✨ Payton’s winning piece will be on display at the Tidewater Inn throughout the month of September. Stop by to see it in person and learn more about the talented artist behind the painting below!

---------

Payton LeRoy is a two-time “Next Generation” winner at Easton’s prestigious Plein Air competition, the nation’s largest outdoor art festival. Her painting “Tidewater Inn” is this year’s winner; her “Tiger in the Woods” acrylic was the first-place pick in 2023.

Her love for art began at a young age to express herself when she experienced speech difficulties and to keep calm when she felt frustrated. Her natural ability as an artist was encouraged by her parents, Susan and Scott, as well as her many art teachers both in public school and at the Academy of Art Museum in Easton, and most recently Artipre in Ellicott City.

In addition to being an artist, Payton is a multi-disciplinary dancer and varsity tennis player—she won the 2A East Regional Championship in Spring 2026 and then medaled 3rd place for Girls Singles at the Maryland State Tennis Championships. A junior in high school, she hopes to major in Biomedical Engineering and Immunology with a minor in Art at college. A member of the Torch and Laurel Honor Society, she has been chosen twice to attend the Congress of Future Medical Leaders as a delegate at UMASS/Lowell.

A Big Welcome to our new Tap Instructor, Miss Marrissa!! Miss Marrissa began dancing as a child at Robin's School of Dance in Suddlersville and continued her dance education at TTP. Since graduating high school, Miss Marrissa has continued her education at Chesapeake College and works at PRS Guitars, while continuing dance classes at TTP. You may have also seen her as a substitute teacher here at To the Pointe. She recently completed her Tap Roots certification program and is excited to start the year! With a history of music/marching band experience and dance, tap proves to be one of her favorite dance styles for it's musicality and fun, upbeat rhythms. Congratulations Miss Marrissa!!

Stay tuned for more faculty posts coming to you!!
