First regionals was a rough start but had a strong finish. He didn’t make the amain but he shined in his bmain!!

He black flagged in the heat so he ran a cmain. That wasn’t any better as you can see below in picture #1. BUT it was like a light switch for the b. He held his line while still getting out of the way when the leader came. Despite being lapped he still kept pace with the cars in front of him. He ran big circles and passed when it was appropriate instead of dumping people like a 🫏.

We have a few weeks off due to vacation with his dad, not traveling for away races & Fathers Day weekend. But this down time will not be wasted!! I have videos of all past races to go over and watch, we’re running drills to improve our performance, knowledge & understanding of his car as well as what he needs to do to keep calm and push on. As my child, he’s gifted with extra emotions that sometimes he can’t immediately make sense of or shake off… ex: pic #2… I really need to get his visor polarized! Lol

We will be back in action for the remainder of the summer and into fall. Thank you to everyone who has offered to help, lended a hand and listen to me cry - literally. 😅🤣

Regionals this Saturday & Sunday - May 23 & 24 at Christian County Quarter Midget Association

We played in the mud but finished the race!!

2 weeks ago at ALQMA we wrecked out and did not finish. The next day at CCQMA we were black flag for too many unassisted spin outs.

Tonight he finished the race on the lead lap, in the same position he started. He had a few run ins with other cars or the infield rail/mud but nothing major. Prolly more mud to clean up than broken parts.

All in all, we made it home in one piece. We have lots of learning to do with this big jump up in class/competition but I’m confident with a little more time, he’ll get there.

Next up…. His FIRST regionals race at his home track - CCQMA - NEXT weekend - Saturday AND Sunday!

Somehow the rain skipped over ALQMA so we’re loaded and ready to roll with the new set up!!

Start time 4 PM tonight!!

Tomorrow is questionable as to whether it will be quarter midgets or boats racing at CCQMA 😅🤣
