Today is a big day at Excel Academy of TKD!

Four of our students will be stepping onto the floor at 1:00 PM to test for their Black Belts. Each one of them has put in countless hours of training, discipline, perseverance, and growth to reach this moment.

We would love to pack the school with support and encouragement for them. If you’re available, come out and cheer them on as they take this next huge step in their martial arts journey!

I’m incredibly proud of these four students as they prepare to test for their Black Belts this Saturday at 1:00 PM.

Heidi Fawcett, Ian Sytsma, Alex Buckley, and Nolah Mangrum have each taken their own unique path to reach this point. Their journeys have required dedication, discipline, perseverance, growth, and a willingness to keep showing up even when things became difficult.

A Black Belt is more than a rank. It represents the time, effort, lessons, setbacks, victories, and personal growth that happen along the way.

I’m very proud of each one of them and honored to be part of their journey.

If you’d like to come support them, we would love to see you there.

Excel Academy Families — Important Schedule Changes Beginning October 1

Beginning October 1, we will be making a few updates to our weekly class schedule as we continue restructuring and developing our programs.

Our Wednesday Weapons Class and Friday Padded Sword Class have been canceled as we work toward creating a new weapons program. Students are still welcome to bring their weapons to regular classes for help, critique, and continued practice.

There are also a few additional schedule changes:

* All Thursday classes will now be taught by Master Rosie.
* Thursday at 6:20 PM will be TKD Sparring Class for Green Belts & Above.
* Friday Open Floor Practice: 6:20–7:30 PM with Mr. Ron & Mr. Soren
* Saturday Open Floor Practice: 8:30–9:15 AM with Mr. Gatlin

Our Friday and Saturday Open Floor Practice times are designed to give students extra opportunities to work on weapons forms, competition forms, and other areas where they would like additional help or critique.

We are excited about these changes and the opportunity to continue improving and strengthening our program for our students. Thank you to all of our Excel families for your flexibility, support, and continued trust in us.

Excel Academy Families — Important Schedule Update Beginning October 1

Beginning October 1, we will be making a few changes to our weekly schedule as we take some time to restructure and develop a new weapons program.

Our Wednesday Weapons Class has been canceled, and our Friday Padded Sword Class has also been canceled.

Students are still welcome to bring their weapons to regular classes for help, critique, and continued practice.

We are also introducing Open Floor Practice times each week:

* Fridays: 6:20–7:30 PM with Mr. Ron and Mr. Soren
* Saturdays: 8:30–9:15 AM with Mr. Gatlin

These open-floor times will give students the opportunity to work on weapons forms, competition forms, and other areas where they would like additional help.

Our Friday All Levels Class will continue from 5:30–6:15 PM, followed by Open Floor Practice.

Thursday Schedule Update

Beginning October 1, all Thursday classes will be taught by Master Rosie.

Our Thursday Advanced Class will also be changing to a TKD Sparring Class for Green Belts & Above, held from 6:20–7:00 PM.

The rest of Thursday’s schedule will remain:

Tiger Tots: 5:00–5:30 PM
All Levels: 5:35–6:15 PM
TKD Sparring — Green Belts & Above: 6:20–7:00 PM

We are excited to use this transition as an opportunity to build something even stronger for our students moving forward. Thank you to all of our Excel families for your flexibility, support, and continued trust in our program.
