The Community Center splash pad will be closed until further notice. We apologize for the inconvenience and will update you when we reopen!

7/27 9:22PM- EDITED FOR CLARITY: We wanted to get this closure notice out to the public ASAP today in the midst of an otherwise busy Monday! We didn’t realize that so many people would be looking for more answers, probably because this is the first time in the two operational summers that we have had to shut it down temporarily! Now we know for next time (if there is one!)

Hundreds of people use this splash pad on a weekly basis to which we are so thankful. Operations for public use have standards and practices that we need to abide by to keep the splash pad up and running for everyone so that it is always SAFE and CLEAN. No need to let your imaginations run too wild. Incidents happen and our staff are on top of getting it back in order as soon as possible.

We will update you as soon as we reopen. The forecast this week is showing a lot of rain anyway, but while we have your attention, please feel free to check out our other program offerings and join us for the Red Sox game at the end of August! Bring this passion and energy to Fenway! FMI: www.sacorec.com

Thank you all!

Last week’s Picnic & Paddle night on the river was a huge success!! The group of 22 people paddled from Diamond Riverside Park to Rotary Park where they enjoyed a scenic picnic dinner before paddling back. There was a mix of canoes & paddle boarders, and we had participants of all ages. It was sunny and calm after a stormy afternoon, which made for an even more memorable outing! Thank you Thornton Academy for the canoe collaboration!

This Sunday marks the start of our summer concert series at Jubilee Park, and we’re thrilled to kick things off with Sugar Hill String Band!

S**o Parks & Recreation Department hosts these Sunday evening concerts in the peaceful riverside setting of Jubilee Park. Bring a blanket or chair, stroll across the covered bridge on Water Street, and settle in for a lively performance from one of Maine’s great local musicians.

Concerts run from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. every Sunday from July 19 through Aug. 9, featuring a mix of new and familiar faces throughout the summer.

As always, concerts are weather dependent. Check sacomaine.org/calendar on Sunday for any updates on cancellations or rain dates.
