TONIGHT! We’re got a pop-up Halloween Canyon Run starting at Ponderosa C***r Co, 6PM. Bring your best costumes, a headlamp, and your legs. Who knows? You might even catch a scare out there 😵😈

Quiet Tuesday after a loud year.

Every race we put on this year started as a weird idea and turned into something real because people kept showing up. Runners who signed up for things they weren’t sure they could finish. Volunteers who gave up their weekends to stand in the cold, the heat, and the dark. Friends, crews, and families who cheered for strangers like they’d known them forever.

Thank you to everyone who ran with us, helped out, spread the word, or just kept coming back. You’re the reason this club still feels like a community and not just a bunch of start lines.

I’m personally grateful to all those who’ve supported me being this crazy race director, this club, and all these events we do. With new ideas, familiar(ish) trails, and plenty more chances to get weird in the woods together in the future. We can’t wait to see what you all do out there in 2027.

WHAT A WEEKEND AT THE NORCAL BACKYARD ULTRA!

Huge congratulations to all of our incredible runners who showed up, pushed their limits, and made this event one for the books!

OVERALL WINNER: JOSH KIVI 145.8 miles | 35 yards completed

An incredible performance and a NEW OVERALL COURSE RECORD!

35th Yard Assist: Vince Bilauca Helping push the limits all the way to 34 yards!

WOMEN’S HIGHLIGHT: HANNAH JUSTEN 70.8 miles | 17 yards completed

16th Yard Assist: Bernadette Grismer An amazing effort and another standout performance!

This weekend was about so much more than miles. We had RECORD NUMBERS, incredible determination, an amazing community, and performances that raised the bar for the NorCal Backyard Ultra.

To every runner, volunteer, crew member, and supporter who made this event possible, thank you!

Runners and c***r fans, it’s almost that time of year again! 🏃‍♀️

The 4th annual Sunset & C***r Trail Run is coming back to Ponderosa C***r!

Whether you’re a hardcore endurance runner, a weekend trail warrior, or just getting into trail running, this is an event for you. Hit the trails, catch the sunset, then celebrate at the finish with post race c***r from Ponderosa C***r and tasty BBQ from Hops & Hogs Country Smokehouse.

Run. Sunset. C***r. BBQ. Sounds like a pretty solid evening to us. 🍻

The race takes place October 10th, so go and sign up through Bad luck run club and getting those trail legs ready!

Registration for the 2027 Lost Sierra Endurance Race is officially open!

This year, look forward to two days of epic mountain races, a brand new Summit VK+ distance (7 miles, 4,300ft grind climb from Sierra City to the summit of the Sierra Buttes), and our course our brutally awesome 100KM, 50KM, & 25KM races. Cutting through river canyons, alpine ridgelines, and remote singletrack all on some of the best trails in the Sierra Nevada.

Cash prizes are now on the line for the winners of the Summit VK+ and 100KM distances.

Two days. Four races. One of the most scenic and demanding runs in California.

Big news everyone! We’ve moved our Wednesday Night Runs to Tuesday Night Social, still at the The Station Public House at 6:15PM. Co-Leader Rob Robert Burdekin will be taking over our weekly run on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Ken has stepped back to managing races and special one off events like the Bad Luck B**r Mile. Same crew, same fun vibes, new day! See you at The Station!

LOST SIERRA ENDURANCE RACE 2026

Words can’t describe how much love and appreciation we have for everyone involved in the spectacular race! From the impromptu volunteers, aid station crew, course markers, packet pickup helpers, shuttle drivers, sweepers, medical teams, communication & ops coordinators, timers, set up & clean up teams, ice delivers, pizza runners, morning coffee drivers, captains, cheer squads, equipment fixers, janitors, and anyone else we may have missed… we literally could not do it without you!!! 45 people spent many hours and days working to create this incredible experience so runners could have a 25K/50K/100K party on the trails.

Before we post the rest of our results or photos. We want to thank all these volunteers!
