We braved the crazy weather in SF to a gorgeous Friday night (ice skating in the Valley!) and then braved the light rain and snow while staying in our cozy cabins. The electricity went out for the day but the dinning areas were all up and functioning, the lounge had a well lit fireplace, the sky cleared for a stunning full moon over Half Dome and then we woke up to a stunning sunny Sunday morning!

Awesome weekend in Lassen with students from Argentina, Germany, Denmark, China, Thailand, Nigeria, Iran, France and the U.K. and of course, a couple from the U.S.! We camped at Manzanita Lake, hiked up to the summit of Brokeoff Mtn and strolled the boardwalk of Bumpass Hell. A swim in Lake Helen ended a great day.

We’ve got the Day Use area, right on the bluff, where we’ll be able to enjoy a delicious BBQ of salmon and portabella mushrooms while we watch the lights of the Bridge and SF light up as the sun sets (the sun actually sets behind the hills). After dinner, walk up to the view points to see the bridge twinkle at night. Definitely a Bay Area Bucket List! Come out whenever you can, dinner is at 7 pm

Stinson Beach Steep Ravine Cabin and Camping Trips
Less than an hour from San Francisco lies one of the most sought after overnight locations in California: The Steep Ravine Cabins and Campground, located on a bluff overlooking Stinson Beach and the Pacific Ocean. We'll share a cabin or a campsite right on the bluff where we can watch the sun set into the ocean. Dinner and breakfast provided. Show up for dinner, watch the sunset, hang out around the wood burning stove or campfire and play board games and wake up to a gorgeous morning overlooking the ocean...or head home to sleep in your own bed.

The cabins are very rustic. Just a table, benches and wood burning stove. The beds are wooden platforms so we bring sleeping pads and bags. No electricity and bathrooms w/running water are a short walk.

FYI, if you try to book one of these yourself, you’ll find that they are completely sold out all the way thru September!!
