🔥 WELCOME TO JUSTHOOP, COACH JULES MILSTEAD 🔥

We’re proud to officially welcome Oakland native and veteran leader Jules Milstead as our JustHoop Program Director.

With over 26 years of experience coaching, mentoring, and educating youth, Coach Jules brings championship-level leadership and real community impact to our program. He has led teams to multiple League, Sectional, and NorCal titles — including two State Championship appearances — and has coached and mentored numerous athletes who went on to college, play professionally, and build successful careers beyond the game.

Coach Jules has served as a Director and Coach with respected AAU programs such as Oakland Rebels, Oakland Soldiers, and Splash City, and has hosted leagues, tournaments, and camps across the region for nearly two decades through 4Ballers Only.

Beyond basketball, he currently serves as Director of Community Services and Safety for Oakland Unified School District — continuing his life’s work of serving and protecting youth.

At JustHoop, we believe basketball is a vehicle for building leaders — and Coach Jules embodies that mission.

🚨 PROVEN PREP ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨

We’re excited to welcome Coach Marcus Barnes to Proven College Prep as a 16U / 17U Assistant Coach.

Coach Barnes brings deep high school and grassroots experience to our program, currently serving as Associate Head Coach at Saint Mary’s High School, former Head Coach at Antioch High School, and Assistant Coach at San Leandro High School. His résumé includes being named CCS Runner-Up Coach of the Year and leading teams to an Adidas 3SSB Gold Championship (West Coast).

A proven competitor and teacher of the game, Coach Barnes adds experience, leadership, and championship standards to our College Prep environment.

Shoutout to a Few of our Day 1s

Loyalty is rare — and we’ve been blessed to have it in these young men. While there are more Day 1s in the JustHoop family, today we want to shine a light on three hoopers who have been with us since their elementary school days. Since then, they’ve trusted us to be part of their journey, and for that we are forever inspired to continue showing up for them in any way we can.

Lorenzo (Lo Lo) – From the little guy with his shot behind his head to becoming a high-level guard who can knock it down from anywhere, Lo Lo has truly embodied “Doing WORK.” Athletic, versatile, and unselfish, he can finish, distribute, defend, and lead with effort every single possession. What makes us most proud is that through all his growth, he’s stayed true to his character and core values of being a giving and heartfelt individual. High school is just the next stage where we know he’ll continue to inspire with his presence.

Marcello (Cells) – The definition of heart and hustle. Off the court, he’s the team comedian, but on the court he’s all business. Every team needs a player like Cells — someone willing to do whatever it takes to help the team succeed. Diving for loose balls, rebounding, defending, making the extra pass…he does it all. This past season, his offensive game exploded, proving he’s a true two-way player with a high IQ. Can’t wait to see him shine at the next level.

Tyler (T-Time) – Our first-ever free day camp back in 2017 had a little guy named Tyler who would go on to inspire one of the JH motto “Capital C” for Composure. Since then, he’s become one of the most composed, skilled point guards we’ve coached. A true leader on and off the court, Tyler can score at will, knock down shots, and use his speed and handles to create for himself and his teammates. His high school coach has a star in the making.
