Carl Lewis became one of the greatest track and field athletes in history after competing for the Houston Cougars under legendary coach Tom Tellez before qualifying for the Olympics. Lewis went on to win nine Olympic gold medals and one silver medal across four different Olympic Games, dominating both the sprint and long jump events throughout the 1980s and 1990s.
