How to choose the right wedge bounce.
Here’s a quick breakdown:

Low Bounce (4-8°) – Best for:
✅ Firm turf & tight lies – Keeps the leading edge low for crisp contact.
✅ Bunker shots with hard sand – Reduces bounce off the firm surface.
✅ Players with a shallow swing – If you sweep the ball rather than dig, this is for you.
❌ Risk – Can dig too much in soft ground, making shots inconsistent.

High Bounce (10-14°) – Best for:
✅ Soft turf & fluffy lies – Prevents digging and helps make clean contact.
✅ Bunkers with soft sand – The extra bounce keeps the club from getting stuck.
✅ Steep swings & divot-takers – If you hit down aggressively, high bounce is more forgiving.
❌ Risk – Can make firm ground shots tricky since the club can skid instead of sliding under.

When to Switch?
➡️ If you’re struggling with chunked shots or digging too deep, try a higher bounce.
➡️ If you’re blading shots or can’t get under the ball, a lower bounce may help.
