Carolina Drive is a High School showcase team for girls wishing to pursue softball in college.

Carolina Drive is based in Seneca, SC and is head coached by Scott Butts. Assistant coaches are Mike Jones, Kevin Braner, and Siara Shelton. This team of coaches has many combined years of coaching and playing experience, with a true focus on player development. Scott currently provides individual and group instruction on hitting, defensive form and techniques. Mike is a former assistant coach at an upstate high school with years of travel ball coaching experience, Kevin has coached travel softball and worked with multiple age groups, and Siara played college softball at Limestone and joins us after having coached a couple of years of college softball at USC-Salkehatchie. The Carolina Drive was formed to take some of the hardest working high school players in our area and help them achieve their goals of playing at the next level by participating in showcase tournaments. The goal of which is to be offered to play at the collegiate level. Follow us for player information and to keep up with our upcoming tournaments!

For a second straight Saturday, the Carolina Drive ladies spent a beautiful Fall day competing in a college friendly, this time in Columbia, SC.
Game 1 vs. Columbia College: tough start to the day falling 9-1. CC pitched very well, played very stingy defense, and executed situational hitting. This game was another excellent opportunity to see what we need to work on!
Game 2 vs. Columbia International University: an exciting way to end the day tying 2-2. Both teams stood behind their pitchers and played good defense. From a coaching perspective it's fun to watch two teams go toe-to-toe and compete until time runs out!

Thank you Columbia College Softball and CIU Rams Softball for the invite, hosting us in your facilities, and giving us more next-level opportunities to get better!
The Drive ladies head to Myrtle Beach, SC Nov. 7-8 to keep competing in the Bash at the Beach.

Saturday in the Capital City🥎

The Carolina Drive ladies spent a beautiful Fall Saturday at Catawba Valley CC competing in a college friendly.
Game 1 vs. Lees McRae: great start to the day winning 10-6 behind aggressive base-running, smart at-bats, and good pitching. Played well defensively and found some things we need to keep working on. Great effort overall!
Game 2 vs. Catawba Valley: another great start scoring 6 runs in our first at-bat. After that, CVCC overwhelmed us with great hitting. Pitching was the big weakness in this one with too many freebies. Good teams will capitalize on those. We still competed and fell 16-6. The great thing about this game was the opportunities to learn and get better against higher competition.

Thank you Catawba Valley Community College Red Hawks for the invite, hosting us on your beautiful field, and giving us opportunities to get better!

The Drive ladies head to Columbia, SC on Saturday, 10/31 for another college friendly against Columbia College followed by Columbia International University.

The Carolina Drive ladies competed very well this past weekend in the The Diamond Classic at Tyger River. As usual, the Elite 80 camp on Friday night was a huge success for our 2! Finished Saturday 3-0 behind good pitching, clutch defense, and multiple 2 out hits and RBIs. Faced an uber talented team on Sunday morning and fell 8-1, but not without competing until the end. We're headed to Catawba Valley Community College on Saturday, October 24th to compete against 2 colleges in a friendly! Stay tuned to Game Changer!

Headed to Gaffney, SC🥎

09/09/2026

We spent Labor Day Weekend in Rock Hill at the Cardinals Showcase. The Drive ladies were very persistent in hanging in until the end of every game. Lost 2 games in the opponents last at-bat by one run each, came back and tied a game in our last at-bat, and had a great total team win on Sunday morning. Sometimes that's how life mimics sports... you keep on fighting and come up just short. This group continues to work hard together! We have a week off to work on some things before we head to the USC Upstate Friendly in Gaffney, SC September 19-20.
