Come join us at Toole Low Grounds to take part in one of the fastest growing species hunts in North Carolina. We are located just outside of Smithfield NC, where we have been hunting hogs for over 10 years. Now we are offering clients the opportunity to partake in one of the most unique hunts in NC. Hunt includes an all day hunt on property located in Johnston County on the Neuse River. We offer multiple stands/locations to hunt from. This is a still hunt of wild feral hogs. They are not kept in pens and dog hunting is not allowed. Your hunt includes the harvest of one animal per paying hunter with no size or gender restriction. 2026–27 Season Update

It was coming, and most of you already knew it but our forestry time is up, and the property needs some thinning and clear-cutting. Unfortunately, that work will most likely take place next month, which means we’ll have to sit out the 2026–27 hunting season.

On top of that, after 11 years of dragging hogs around, my shoulder has finally had enough. I’m scheduled for rotator cuff repair surgery next month, which will put me out of commission for several months.

So, with a little disappointment but a lot of excitement for what’s ahead, the 2026–27 season will not take place this year.

We’re genuinely excited to see what the property looks like after the forestry work is complete, and we already have plenty of plans and ideas for the future. We’re looking forward to coming back stronger and making the property even better for the seasons ahead.

Most importantly, thank you. To everyone who has hunted with us, supported us, shared our posts, recommended us to friends, or simply followed along over the years. We truly appreciate you. Your support and understanding mean more than you know.

I’ve known Dennis since I was 18 and my days at IGA. Over the years, he and his wife processed many a hog and deer for me and my customers. But Dennis’ impact on all of the local outfitters went far beyond that.

Dennis was the man. He looked after all of us and got things done in record time, always with that familiar, “I’ll hook ’em up.”

He battled through some tough health scares over the years, and lately he just wasn’t moving quite as fast as he used to. So when I got a text from Matt at T&M today letting me know Dennis had passed away, I was shook. I almost sensed something when he texted me.

Dennis thought the world of my daddy, so I know they’re up there swapping stories now.

I’ll miss you, old man. I’ll miss talking Tarheels with you in the Old South Processing barn. You were one of a kind, and I know a whole lot of you guys loved and respected him just as much as I did.

I just wanted to share this because I know Dennis touched a lot of lives around here.

Rest easy, my friend. ❤️
