“Still not quite sure how I pulled this one off. With such a busy tournament schedule, I only had one morning to hunt during the first two weeks of the season. But that’s all we needed. 

Truth be told, I knew about this buck before the season and had him patterned pretty well. I just didn’t think there was much of a chance he would actually show up and do exactly what he was supposed to with only one morning to hunt. Somehow that’s exactly what happened.

It’s been a dream of mine to kill a buck that breaks the magical 200” mark. I’ve come really close 3 times, but I honestly didn’t know if it would ever happen. Never in my right mind did I think I’d finally do it with a straight up typical that easily surpasses the mark and then some.

To do it on public land and a general season tag makes it that much more special. I think it’s pretty safe to say I’ll be on cloud 9 for a little while.” - Team Shooter Kyle Douglas
