This is where fast players get exposed 😱
Being fast means nothing if you can’t control that speed.
Footballers spend a lot of time training acceleration and sprinting, but matches constantly demand something else too:
Stopping, decelerating, cutting, and going again.
That’s what these three exercises are built around.
Sprint and stop.
Sprint, turn, and go.
Sprint, cut, and change direction.
The key is to actually challenge yourself with speed.
The faster you enter the stop, the more control you need through your hips, knees, ankles, and trunk to handle the deceleration and move again.
That’s a huge part of football training and player development because the game rarely lets you run in one straight line.
