Grant Beach Park and Pool

A fun and educational, historical feature on our Railroad Museum by the Springfield-Greene County Park Board 🚂

🚨 Some tough news regarding the 2026 outdoor pool season: We are unable to open Grant Beach and Westport Pools this summer due to structural damage.

🏗️ Grant Beach remains closed after the April 2025 storm lifted off the roof of the pool house. Construction begins this Tuesday on roof replacement and interior water damage, and continues for 90 days. The Park Board is committed to repairing Grant Beach for reopening in 2027.

💧 Westport was recently discovered to have a massive leak due to separation of a 50-year-old drainpipe from the pool shell. The leak lost 1,170 gallons of water an hour, which is about 1/3 the total volume of the pool in a day. This is complicated repair, and could not be completed in time for pool season. And we're not sure what additional damage may be found beneath the pool. A comprehensive outdoor pool assessment, currently underway for all locations, should tell us more.

✅ The good news:
• We've added open days at Fassnight, Meador and Silver Springs outdoor pools.
• We've extended daily discount Splash & Sizzle pricing ($1 admission or free with a canned food donations for Ozarks Food Harvest) now offered 5-6:30 p.m. 🥫
• Outdoor pool admission rates at the indoor pools at Chesterfield and Doling Family Centers, Monday–Thursday from 4–8 p.m., starting June 1.
• Outdoor pool season runs June 1–Aug. 16.

Gain the skills and confidence to provide lifesaving emergency care! 🛟 American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification includes a swim test, water & land rescue techniques, first aid, CPR and AED training. ❤️⚡ Certification is required for employment as a Park Board Lifeguard.
