You can bring in items for donation or attend one of our two classes this week to benefit Operation Bootstrap - see our schedule for more details.
We will have a box in the entryway for Operation Bootstrap donations. Here is what they need:
Gloves and mittens for kids and adults
Winter boots for kids and adults
Children/young adult snow pants
Mens shoes ( tennis shoes)
Mens clothing especially jeans with waist size 32 and 34
Cleaning supplies (buckets, toilet brush, sponges, all purpose cleaner, wipes).

This weekend we were busy with our Anatomy in Three Dimensions course. These movement pros, (and the three who joined us online) built the muscle anatomy from the elbows to the knees while learning joint actions, bony landmarks, biomechanics and more. Our brains are full and inspired! The next course for movement professionals and Pilates Teachers in training will be Movement Principles, September 10th and 11th - more info online! •

Congrats to these beautiful teachers on completing their Barrels Module in the Balanced Body Pilates Teacher Training program. The Barrels module teaches exercises, movement progressions, safety protocols and more using the Pilates Spine Correctors/Step Barrels and Ladder Barrel.

Pilates Teacher Training students and are learning to incorporate the foam roller, Pilates Ring, therabands and small balls for extra support and proprioceptive challenges. Whether you are using Pilates as mindful movement, core work, post rehab exercise or neuromuscular reeducation - the variety is endless!
What is the difference between exercise and a mindful movement practice? To us, a mindful movement practice goes beyond the act of exercise to provide awareness, alignment and the physical sensation of connection within your musculoskeletal structure as well as to the world around you. A movement practice sets the foundation to live life to your fullest.

Reformer class is one of the best ways to experience elongation, core activation, and organic movement in your body. Working together in-studio develops community and friendship.
In an effort to keep everyone safe, comfortable and ‘in-studio’ during this Covid-19 surge we will require masks for this week and next.
We know the best way to practice mindful movement is mask-free, and we hope to be back to our mask optional approach very soon.

Spine Stretch and Saw become a whole new experience when you combine the use of props with specific cueing. When working with a healthy spine, try to gently pull apart on the Pilates Magic Circle while also grounding downwards into the legs and feet. This creates a gentle tension to open the low back and torso, turn on the core musculature and feel elongation and space in the spine.
