Congratulations to Gary and Dana releasing Dana‘s first Blue Marlin ever today on the 31 with .peterson25 at the helm! First bait in the water this morning and Capt. Jimmy had a 350 pound blue one eat the long kite bait and it was on! Something you don’t see very often off Stuart but always cool when it happens to you! Nice going to all involved ! wish I was there, but glad you at least got some good video. Thanks for sharing! They ended up coming in after letting that fish go, but there was a very good sailfish bite that took place today and last I heard we ended up taking top grouper in the TCBA Tournament on the other boat. Sorry for the inconvenience everyone, they pulled the plug on us at the last second. Cant say I didn’t expect it, but still sucks. Due to a lawsuit backed by the commercial fishing sector, all snapper charters have been put on hold the night before opening day! WTF!? I feel like there needs to be another lawsuit by the charter and recreational sector as well. A lot of time and effort wasted not to mention the lost business. This has definitely been one of the most mismanaged fisheries in my lifetime. Who gave them the right to sell the snapper to the commercial sector anyways? All Red Snapper charters canceled until further notice. Call me if you were on the books. Sorry. for the Don’t know who makes these rules and rulings, but they definitely need some help. Pure ridiculousness. I’m very disappointed in the whole system.

I can’t believe somebody actually gave the thumbs up for this. Whoever did, is either intentionally destructing our environment and fishery or has total rocks for brains. Could you even devise a more sinister plan intentionally? This has to be stopped immediately. Literally dumping it onto the state preserve reef …. Please help.

With the exception of almost getting smacked in the face at the end 😂. This is the perfect example of letting the gaff spin and rolling the hook upside down when you lift them into the boat. I don’t know how many times I’ve seen people stroke a fish and try pulling them into the boat with the gaff tip down, inevitably causing many to fall or flip off as they’re coming over the covering board. What do you think is the most challenging fish to gaff?

Alert! Booking Red Snapper season Now!!! Opening day of grouper was a success and we still have plenty of open days this month. There are some really nice fish out there. Today we had Zach and Bailey and kept a nice grouper for each of them along with some mahi, and banded rudder fish. They also had plenty of other rod bending action from various species including red snapper (which was just announced today there will be a 39 day season starting May 22!) Thank you ! I had a lot of guesses before my son told me what this was. One of the first natural gas turbines in 10 years. Did a little research and more than likely it’s going to power a new AI plant. .peterson25,

School after school of slingers with some really nice fish mixed in. Kept 15 for the five of us, went one for three on sails, couple Blackfin, and a few Bonita. And I didn’t even get to the cool part yet. While we were bottom fishing with a chicken rig in 250 feet we hooked a pretty decent fish. At first, we thought it came off, but then realized it was coming up to the surface pretty quickly. First thought, Cobia, next thought, mahi since there have been so many, maybe a sail? Then two violent head shakes and it’s gone. Next thing you know there’s a little 60 pound swordfish free jumping right behind the boat about midway between the Short rigger and the Long rigger. It never bit again, but it was so cool to get a good look at him and get a good id of what we had on. Definitely one of those things you’ll never forget and I’m sure once in a lifetime but just proof again, you never know what you’re gonna see out there and there are no fences.
