It’s a wrap! We had lots of happy players! These were First Place winners, and more great competitors and volunteers!
Tennis truly is a sport for a lifetime and has proof that we live longer! These 70 and older players proved it this weekend! They are a motivation for us all to never stop!
Great job to all! See you next year!

We had a great time at our T-Town Classic 70s tournament country western party Friday night. Alex Gantz entertained us with incredible country music, Michelle Smith played a fun group game, First Serve Tulsa served us, and we had Billy Sims Barbecue! Thanks to Daryl and Bill Eaton for sponsoring our tournament!

So proud of Carlos Salazar 👏

For Carlos Salazar, tennis is a source of connection, community, challenge and personal growth, and a place where his Hispanic heritage is proudly reflected.

After moving to the United States when he was 12 years old, his introduction to tennis came through his father who worked as a groundskeeper at the Tulsa Tennis Club.

We loved seeing our own Lizette Romero Corcoran - Lizette Cork featured by USTA Oklahoma for Hispanic Heritage Month!

Lizette is a 4.5 player, captain, and a familiar face around LaFortune. We’re proud to have her as part of our tennis community and love seeing her story, heritage, and passion for the game celebrated.

Give the full story a read!

For league captain Lizette Romero Corcoran, tennis is about more than competition — it's a way to honor her Hispanic heritage and create opportunities for others.

A big congratulations to our Executive Director, Emily Burk, on being named a recipient of the USTA 35x35 President’s Impact Award!

This national award recognizes 35 grassroots leaders, coaches, and organizations making a meaningful impact on the growth of tennis across the country, and we can’t think of anyone more deserving.

Emily works tirelessly behind the scenes to grow First Serve Tulsa, but what makes her so special is that you’ll find her on court just as often, sharing her love of tennis directly with the kids we serve.

We believe tennis can build confidence, resilience, teamwork, connection, and lifelong skills. Emily lives that mission every day and is a wonderful influence in the lives of so many young people in our community.

We’re so proud of you, Emily! Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition! 💙🎾

We had a GREAT time hosting the Oklahoma Senior Games at LaFortune this week! 🎾🏅

We were thrilled to welcome players from all across Oklahoma, as well as Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana!

The best part? All Oklahoma players who competed qualified for the 2027 National Senior Games right here in Tulsa! 🎉 Next June/July, Tulsa will welcome approximately 13,000 senior athletes for 10 days of competition! What an incredible event that will be!

We’re so proud to have been part of the Oklahoma Senior Games and loved watching so many athletes compete, make new friends and enjoy the sport we all love.

Take a look at some of our medalists! 🥇🥈🥉🎾

Congratulations to everyone who competed! We’ll see you back on the courts in 2027! ❤️
