I completely forgot to hand out a copy of the league rulebook to every youth participant this morning which has the points system in it and all the official rules. I’m sorry for having a hiccup on this and a few other things this morning as well, this is our first time doing this. (And I was also pretty nervous) Thank you all for being patient/understanding and overall I think it turned out a fun & exciting first day. I will hand out copies of the official rulebook on week 2 but here I attached pictures of all 4 pages along with the week 1 scoring sheets. Leighton won the heat race. Nolan finished with the fastest lap time of the heat race, good for 3 bonus points. Olivia won the feature, and Alaric had the fastest lap time of the day which is good for 5 bonus points. Points are very tight throughout, plus don’t forget, a drivers worst week will get dropped. Championship standings will be calculated off each drivers 5 best weeks totaled up. And remember juniors, don’t get discouraged, it’s only week 1. We’ve got a long ways to go, and next week we will start learning about lap times, racing lines, and cornering a lot more! Note: the youth don’t have “qualifying” or pole position like the adult league so those 3 bonus points are instead awarded to fastest lap of the heat.
