Hunting seasons are still wrapping up. sent me some pics of his recent kill. Enjoy.

“Southern ohio state land. Late muzzleloader season
I hiked in over a mile with my climber to a place ive had success in the past. Seen 11 doe and a small buck. Last 15 min of shooting light i hear a noise to my right. 3 does at 25yrds came up the hill. Lead doe caught my startled movement but didn’t bust me. They slowly kept walking in front of me to pass but kept looking up. He came up 30yrds behind them. He was at 10yrds at one point but didn’t like the looks of me in the tree. He blew and ran off to 50 yrds. When he ran i pulled my gun up quickly and found him in the scope. He turned broadside and i shot. I glassed him running away and lost him as he went over the hill. He only went 80yrds and piled up.”

of put not one.. but two blacktail bucks of a lifetime down on the ground here in Willamette valley.

Finding areas to hunt with so much private can be a feat in itself and Dave put two years into making sure his area was legit.

There’s a lot of cool details that went into this success but as always I’m pleased to see the being used on everyone’s success!!

Congrats Dave!

Smaller buck with the biggest memories. It’s been a handful of years since my daughter and I were able to share a hunting camp. College, work and distance have made what was once a common thing a detailed planned event.

We spent a handful of days in eastern chasing bucks and creating memories. A great hunt with a great crew of people.

Sometimes you receive a photo and say “holy sh*t”! This one is such provided by Scott Bryant. Here’s the story:

Congratulations, I’ve been dying to get that tag holder on something.
This buck showed up on my camera last Friday. I decided to sit as much as I could and hope we would meet. After 7 sits and him disappearing for two days, he showed back up Wednesday morning when I wasn’t there. When I checked the cam Wednesday at 1:00 he was back and on a hot doe that was coming in often. So no show Wednesday night. Thursday morning was a complete rut fest with that doe around. I had deer around from well before daylight until I stuck this guy at 7:55.
As I was watching a doe, she got that crazy look and I knew something was coming in. So, I start to grab my bow and catch him out of the corner of my eye at 15 yards. He saw me moving and had me pegged. I knew it was now or never, so I picked my bow up, pointed it, drew it and punched the trigger pretty quick. Total rush of adrenaline and relief. Hit him with a two blade mechanical, bled out both side till he fell. Pretty epic
