We know a lot of people will be heading to local parks this weekend to enjoy the weather and the unofficial start of summer. We want you to stay safe and have fun! 💧 Swimming in natural bodies of water, like lakes and rivers, is not the same as swimming in a pool. 💧 Local rivers and lakes are still cold enough to cause your body to involuntarily gasp and inhale water, or lose muscle control. 💧 Rivers, even if they look calm, have powerful currents. 💧 Drop-offs can be steep, sudden, and hidden. 💧 Other dangers may be hidden under the water. Stay safe by: 💦 Knowing your limits - drowning often occurs when swimmers get tired 💦 Wear a life jacket when swimming or boating in lakes and rivers, which can overpower even the strongest swimmers 💦 Don't swim alone 💦 Avoid fast-flowing waters, including rivers that may appear calm 💦 Don't dive off cliffs or bridges Stay safe, and stay cool.

The wait is almost over! Our Annual VPS Plant Sales kick off this coming Tuesday, April 28. If you’ve been waiting for the perfect time to refresh your flower beds or start your veggie garden, this is it!

We partner with Share of Vancouver and the Clark County Food Bank to host free food pantries at several schools throughout each month. These pantries are open to all VPS families, regardless of which school your child attends.

Please remember to bring your Clark County Food Bank intake card if you have one, or a list of birthdays for everyone in your household.

Swim lessons canceled today Dec. 17

All VPS schools closed today December 17, 2025 due to widespread power outages across the district. The power company does not have an estimated restoration time, but does not expect power to be back until mid-day. Thank you for your understanding.
