Last week was a small break from lessons as I traveled to Connecticut to watch my hubby graduate from the US Coast Guard Academy where he earned his officer bars back! 😊

He took part in the Reserve Officer Candidate Indoctrination 5 week course where he was restricted from talking to family and friends, he attended hours of classes every day, and endured daily hard physical fitness. He was yelled at, inspected, tested, broken down, and then built back up to lead others. 👏

I already think my hubby is the GOAT, but this is just icing on the cake! His parents and myself made it up for graduation and then celebrated with a late birthday dinner for me and a graduation dinner for Ben at Hell's Kitchen!

Now back to lessons this week! 🥎

Ben and I just met .erickson from Survivor 48 on our flight back home from Providence! 😁 She was one of our favorite players to watch! She's so inspiring! She was the first player to compete with autism. As a coach, a former softball player, and a pediatric cancer survivor, I love watching people challenge themselves and push through adversity. Eva was such an amazing representation of that, she made us both cry that season and we just loved the fight in her! 🔥 To my students who don't know who she is, look her up! She's an inspiration to all! 🙌

My final 2026 senior has left for college! 🥹 Tonight was last lesson before she heads to Bowling Green! 🧡 Thank you for letting me be part of your journey! I have loved our lessons! You moved here and we found so many things in common! From both of us growing up in southern California and realizing I probably played against your sister in the Yorba Linda youth softball program, to my travel and high school teammate playing with your sister at Arizona, to my Pitt catcher being your baby sitter... crazy! Softball is a small world! 🥎 I have enjoyed watching you grow, you break out of your shy shell, become one heck of a pitcher, and earn your D1 college scholarship! I'm so proud of you and so excited to see how your college career takes off! I will miss you and your parents immensely! Good luck Brooklyn!!! 💜

Last lesson before college for .aitlyn0! I am so proud of how far you've come! From never playing softball before age 13 and deciding you want to pitch, to getting to be part of the very small percentage of athletes who get to play college sports! 👏 You have worked so hard over the past 5 years and I'm so happy you get the opportunity to continue your athletic career at Carlow! I know you will continue to work hard both on and off the field! I'm so excited for your next step! Good luck Kaitlyn! 💜
