The **Weatherford High School Smokin’ Aces BBQ Team** brought the heat and took home **1ST PLACE PORK CHOPS** at our first competition of the 2026–2027 school year! 🐖🔥

We are incredibly proud of our team for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence. This is just the beginning! Our Smokin’ Aces will continue to practice, sharpen their skills, and compete throughout the season as they proudly represent Weatherford High School. 💪🍖

🎉 The moment we've all been waiting for is here! 🎉
The Weatherford High School BBQ Team is excited to announce our annual Cooking Up Success Cooking Camp for students ages 8–13! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

📅 Camp Dates: July 27–29
🕗 Time: 8:00 AM–1:00 PM
💲Cost: $130 per student

This fun, hands-on camp gives young chefs the opportunity to learn basic cooking skills, kitchen safety, teamwork, and confidence while creating delicious recipes. Whether your child is just getting started or already loves spending time in the kitchen, this camp is sure to be a fun and memorable experience!

We are incredibly proud of each team. It’s hard to fully express just how much their dedication, commitment, and teamwork mean to us. Advancing to state is an outstanding achievement, and our students rose to the challenge by competing against more than 100 teams across five different categories.

While our 2025–2026 season has come to a close, our journey is far from over.

Shout out to our seniors!

Our seniors were the backbone of the BBQ team and meant everything to us. While not every member was there from the start, these students stepped up without hesitation, put in the work, and gave it their absolute best—representing WISD with pride and excellence every single time. Beyond their own dedication, they became mentors and role models for our younger members, always willing to lend a hand with every task, big or small. What truly set them apart was their unwavering commitment: they showed up even when exhausted, even when facing tough situations, and that kind of character made an incredible impact on everyone around them. These kids didn't just participate in the BBQ team—they built it into something special. In the words of the BBQ kiddos- We are a family.

All three teams got an early start at 5:20 this morning and are ready to rock and roll! They’ll be preparing and turning in an impressive lineup of dishes, including pork ribs, ribeye, grilled cheese, Dutch oven upside-down cake, chicken lollipops, and pork butt.

The Weatherford High School BBQ teams recently traveled to Burnet, Texas to compete in the state national High School BBQ Association of Texas. We are incredibly proud of the hard work, dedication, and teamwork these students have demonstrated throughout their preparation and performance. Their commitment to excellence reflects positively on our school and community, and we commend them for representing Weatherford with such grit and spirit.
