We had 2 of our Concealed Carry Course Clients come in after they finally received their CCW permit upgrade and hadn’t purchased their CCW platform yet. So we set up a “test drive” demo session. We provided a selection of the most popular CCW platforms available to try out and see which fit them and they liked the best. Unfortunately in New York State a person cannot even pickup or handle a pistol without obtaining a permit first. Additionally there aren’t a lot ranges in our area and even more scarce are ones that rent fi****ms to try. They tried out a S&W Bodyguard 2.0, SIG P365, HK CC9, Springfield Hellcat, G***k 43, Canik Mete Prime, Walther PPS, Beretta, and S&W Equalizer. The so-called “gun show loophole” might be one of the most stupid talking points in the entire gun-control debate. Politicians make it sound like you can walk into a gun show and buy fi****ms from dealers without a background check. That’s complete nonsense. Federally licensed gun dealers are required to conduct background checks whether they’re selling guns at a gun show or inside their own store. The so-called loophole is simply that federal law generally allows one private citizen to sell a personally owned fi***rm to another eligible resident of the same state without a background check, unless state law requires one. That’s not some special gun show exemption. That’s a private sale.

If I want to sell one of my ri**es to another law-abiding adult, in a state where that’s legal, why should the federal government force us to go through a gun dealer? We’re talking about private citizens selling their own property. Calling this a “loophole” makes it sound like someone accidentally forgot to write a law. They didn’t. Forcing every private fi***rm sale through government-mandated paperwork isn’t fixing a loophole. It’s another restriction on the Second Amendment.

Chicago CCL Holder Critically Wounds Alleged Attacker

Imagine walking down a Chicago street at 10:30 a.m. in broad daylight and being approached by two strangers with obvious ill intent.

The odds are not in your favor on the surface, but you are a law-abiding citizen who also has a valid CCL (concealed carry license) and a FOID (Fi***rm Owner’s Identification) card, as required of Illinois residents. Now the situation is flipping.

Criminals count on defenseless victims, not armed defenders

That’s the lesson two suspects on foot learned Sunday morning when they allegedly approached a 23-year-old man out walking. Details of what exactly came next are unclear, but a physical fight broke out and the outnumbered male produced a lawful handgun.

He fired multiple shots, striking a suspect in the torso. That man was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital suffering critical injuries, while the individual who was with him was not hurt.

A person of interest is being questioned, but police so far have not said if robbery was the motive or something else was at play. The situation, however, says a lot for itself.

The city of Waterbury, one of two Connecticut municipalities under investigation by federal authorities regarding potential gun rights violations, leads the state in fi***rm permit denial hearings, according to data from the state Board of Fi***rms Permit Examiners.

The U.S. Department of Justice announced Friday that Waterbury and Middletown both are facing investigations into their gun permit practices to make sure the municipalities are acting in a manner consistent with residents' retaining their Second Amendment rights, federal officials said in a news release.
