Brevet New World 2026 route is live. This route is fully stocked with wildlife. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/49969023
1. Mile 16: off-leash dog park. The route avoids parking areas, but it’ll be Saturday. Be cool! Or being a pocket full of treats and be everyone’s fave. I believe this routing is the best alternative.
2. Mile 19: you can’t spell “superfund” without fun. Extra points for marking three-eyed squirrel on your bingo card.
3. Almost everywhere: groundhogs with the black plague. Do not approach.
4. It’s not a race. Take your time at intersections. There aren’t many.
The weather is going to be perfect! See you Saturday. The departs at 7am sharp. I’ll have donuts and waivers and 2 bathrooms for dozens of people. Plan accordingly!

Brevet New World is a self-supported ride happening on Saturday, April 25th at 7am. Since 200 kilometers sounds like the metric system, there's no telling how long this ride is actually, but we know it takes all day. Technically, riders have 13.5 hours to complete a brevet, but Brevet New World gets a little dicier than traditional paved/gravel brevets so we'll allow extra time. Once you convert 13.5 hours from metric to imperial, it's closer to 15 hours.
IMPORTANT NEWS FOR 2026:
No B(urrito)S. Only donations.
For logistical reasons we currently have no means to run registrations for the Brevet this year. The good news: it's completely free. The bad news: there are no finish line burritos. Because this is a charity ride, we'll have a QR code at the start/finish where you can donate to a food coalition. Do not despair: we'll still have finish line beverages, and if you want to leave your cooler with yer own home cookin' in our basement all day during the ride, we promise we won't even sample one tiny little bite.
We're putting the finishing touches on the route and will have it posted soon. It will be fairly similar to 2025 with a couple of improvements and one possible tradeoff (is it worth traversing an off-leash dog park on a Saturday to avoid a six-lane highway?). Finish the ride, get a patch. Can't do the ride on the 25th? Fine. Lone wolf it and show us your ride tracking app or whatever and you can also have a patch.

I chanced a visit to the woods, unaware of what lay in wait. I’ve no memory of the enchantments that occurred therein, but when I returned to my home and to myself, I was covered in loam and had a crazed gleam in the eye that both scared and excited me. I don’t know what I found, or what found me, but I am packing for an expedition, for I shall return with haste in hopes of further discovery.

Either ages ago or just yesterday I rode the Marji Gesick in Marquette, Michigan. It was one of the best days of riding I can remember. If you want to read about it, and also about Toodles the Wonder Dog, here ya go:

On Saturday we hosted a memorial ride for Alex Pretti. Thanks to for launching a worldwide ride that brought countless riders together.
We’ve unfortunately hosted a memorial ride before, but never one quite like this. To read the remarks I made before our departure, visit our website:

Stay strong and take care of one another.

This Saturday we will ride in solidarity with our friends in Minneapolis in memory of Alex Pretti. 8-10 miles. All of the brands we carry are based in Minneapolis, and thus we have a lot of friends up there who are suffering loss and whose lives are in turmoil. This isn’t much, but it’s about all we can do. If you have one, ride your MN bikes on Saturday. If you don’t, ride whatever.
From event organizers
“Alex was one of us, could’ve been any of us, so as we mourn all of us can come together in unity to remember Alex for what he was: a kind and caring soul put on this earth to be a light for others. Although his light has been extinguished, it hasn’t been lost. If anything, those sparks fell and ignited something in us, a hope and drive for a brighter future for all.”

Feeling good about our snack selection. Chews! Goops! Bars! Tamales that walk! We’re saving the tiny rotting oranges in our fridge for ourselves.
