Are you a teenager wanting to try something new? Ice skating is a fun sport that you can take up at any age. Our Teens and Tweens ice skating classes are for skaters ages 12 to 17 who want to learn basic ice skating skills. We have six levels of classes that will set you up for recreational skating or to pursue hockey or figure skating. Classes start next week!

Intro to Speedskating class is designed to help skaters build on basic skating skills while learning speed skating fundamentals such as balance, knee bend, body position, and alignment in a supportive and structured environment. The class includes 30 minutes of on-ice instruction from 1:15–1:45 p.m. and concludes with 15 minutes of dryland training from 2:00–2:15 p.m. Skaters may participate in hockey skates, figure skates, or speed skates; speed skates are not available to borrow on site. Helmets are required for all participants; bike helmets are acceptable.

Want to learn more about team skating in middle school and high school? Whether you’re looking to compete, perform, or simply meet other skaters your age, this is a great opportunity to learn more about the exciting opportunities available to middle and high school skaters. Participants will learn about the Montgomery Middle & High School Skating Team, open to skaters attending public, private, and homeschool programs throughout the DMV area in grades 6 through 12. Improve skating skills through on-ice instruction all while meeting new friends, having fun, and experiencing the camaraderie of skating as a part of a team!
