Shocker Track Club

Shocker Track Club (STC) is pleased to announce plans for our annual Elite Track Fitness program. No experience is necessary, but this program is for athletes serious about learning and improving their Track and Field skills. This program –

will be held indoors at the Wichita State University Heskett Center on select Tuesday and Thursday evenings in September.
is for Youth and Adults and is mandatory for kids age 9 nterested in joining STC for the first time.
is primarily a fitness program with no specific event work.
facilitates activities of a Track-centric nature focusing on the "standard and proper movements" for all events in Track and Field!

Changes to program information may occur, including practice dates and times, costs, and practice locations.

Shocker Track Club Athletes Shine at USATF and AAU Junior Olympics Meets

Eight (8) Shocker Track Club Athletes competed in the USATF Junior Olympics at Cerritos College in Norwalk, California!

Earning USATF All-American Honors were -
Elliana Smith - 17/18 - High Jump – 4T – 1.63 m(Also 100mH PB Semi-Finalist)
Kayla Frost - 17/18 - Heptathlon – 5th – 4291 PB
Vivian Lieurance - 15/16 High Jump – 5th – 1.58m (Also 100mH and Heptathlon PB)

Other STC Athletes competing in the USATF Juniors Olympic were -
Jamar Ponder - 17/18 – 100m, 200m, and 100mH (PB and Semi-Finalist)
Embyr TaTe - 8U – 100m (PB), 200m (PB)
JérAmoni Metcalf-Jones - 15/16 – 100mH (Semi-Finalist and PB) and 400mH
Haylynn Jones - 15/16 – 100mH (Semi-Finalist) and 400mH (PB)
Aniyah Washington - 15/16 – 1500m (PB) and 3000m (PB)

Three (3) Shocker Track Club Athletes competed in the AAU Junior Olympics at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa!

Elliana Smith - 17/18 High Jump – 2nd – 1.75m PB (Also 400mH PB and 100mH PB)
Kenneth Powell - 15/16 High Jump – 2nd – 2.00m PB
Colton Glenn - 14 Shot Put – 6th – 14.63 (Also Discus PB)

We are proud to reintroduce Fundamental Fitness; our Strategic Personal Trainer and Fitness Partner!

Looking for some specialized fitness or strength training? Make a connection with our Personal Trainer, Renaire Palmer. Renaire is a Master Trainer and the owner of Fundamental Fitness at 1520 E. Douglas, Suite 120, Wichita, Kansas 67214. Renaire’s kids train with our program, so he is often at practice. Ask us for an introduction!

Track athletes can benefit from unilateral strength training for improving acceleration and explosiveness. Customized training plans can be developed for individual athletes, and group training options are also available!
