Expected frontrunners Keystone Resort and Arapahoe Basin took advantage of the cold weather and fired up their snow guns this week. Opening day isn't confirmed yet.

First Top to Bottom Snow: This is shaping up to be a good storm event. While we have had a few high elevation dustings, this morning we saw our first real top to bottom snowfall. If you look very closely at the far right side of the photo, you can tell exactly where the the snowline is.



Right now it is still a little too warm to make snow. It looks like the temperature will nosedive about sunset today, give or take a few hours. If the forecast holds, when we arrive at the resort tomorrow morning, the snowmakers will have all the fan guns cranking. This is a very good forecast.

COLORADO MOUNTAIN SNOW WEDNESDAY? ❄️🏔️

It's looking increasingly likely that our midweek storm will bring the first impactful high-country snowfall of the season!

🌨️ WEDNESDAY MORNING: Snow is expected to ramp up before sunrise, with some of the heaviest snowfall potentially coming down across the northern and central mountains through lunchtime. Snow could be coming down HARD at times!

❄️ WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON: The heaviest snowfall should gradually taper off heading into the evening, but travel impacts could linger.

⚠️ WEDNESDAY EVENING: Slushy roads may become slick as temperatures drop and melted snow refreezes, especially over the higher mountain passes.

Winter Weather Advisory-level impacts are possible, particularly across the northern and central mountains!

🚗 Have plans to travel over the high country Wednesday? Keep a close eye on the forecast as we fine-tune snowfall amounts, timing, and potential travel impacts over the next couple of days!
