We are happy to share that Althea continues to thrive at her temporary home next to Court 14! If you aren’t aware, Althea is a killdeer bird who has decided to nest at our complex. In consultation with Skywatch Bird Rescue, we’ve made adjustments to the space around her nest to ensure that Althea and her unhatched babies (names TBD; so far, contenders are Arthur, Ashe, Billie, Jean, Roger, Rafa, etc.) remain safe while she is nesting.
We’ve had a rainy few days, so shout out to Candy for ensuring that the signs around her enclosure remain dry and legible to the public! This evening, she seemed to be enjoying some (likely well-welcomed 🤭) quiet time, as the rain left the courts relatively empty.
P.S. - Novak was likely out hunting and/or giving Althea some space to nest. As a reminder, we must all do the same and be mindful not to approach the nest so that we do not stress her while she is nesting. 🥰

Our 2026 Smash Cancer Tournament was one for the books! 💥🎾
All the numbers are in, and we are proud to report that we raised nearly $40k!
To date, this tournament has raised (drumroll, please 🥁) almost $200k for the Head and Neck Cancer Alliance! These funds go directly to helping head and neck cancer patients through the Alliance’s Financial Assistance Program. To learn more about this amazing program (or to apply for assistance), please visit:

Please join us in congratulating the winners! 👏
If you know any winners, tag ‘em below and share your photos! Our SD card unfortunately didn’t survive the weekend, so if you captured memorable moments, team pics, volunteer photos, or victory celebrations, please share with us below!

Update! We’ve named this killdeer bird “Althea”! She is doing well, and will apparently leave her nest to go find food every now and then! Please do not be alarmed and it is important to still not approach her even if she is outside of her makeshift enclosure!
We’ve already tentatively named her unhatched babies “Arthur” and “Ashe” but are open to other name suggestions!
Edited to note: there are at least 4 eggs, so we definitely need more name suggestions!

This weekend was all about community! We love to way our community came together to rally (literally!) for a great cause. THANK YOU to everyone for your support! Special thanks to Christine Howard Tatum and her team of volunteers for organizing another amazing event!
We simply cannot get over how much kindness truly prevailed! We’d like to give a special shout out to the McAdams/Miller 3.5 40+ team for pooling their resources to submit a sponsorship for the tournament. This type of action embodies everything that we love about this community - our ability to come together!
We will share tournament stats, winner shout outs and photos later! In the meantime, if you’ve taken any photos throughout the weekend, please tag us in them! We love to see it! 🫶
