Every week, each class, our teachers ask our students a question of the day! Sometimes they are silly, and sometimes more thoughtful π
β¨ Here are the benefits of taking two minutes at the start of class to ask a QOTD:
π Each student starts the class by connecting with the teacher in conversation, whether it is a one-word answer or a bit of explanation
πIt acts as an icebreaker, especially at the start of the season, but also helps each student connect with each other before dancing together. A simple QOTD has been shown to strengthen the comfort levels in our studio
πTeachers learn more about the students every class, continuously building connection
πTeachers can take this moment to practice names at the beginning of the season, to ensure they know and say every studentβs name
πChildren LOVE the opportunity to chat! Giving them a chance to talk about what they ate for breakfast that day, or what color mermaid they would be, does wonders for our friends!
π This routine teaches students many life lessons, including taking turns, understanding when to talk, and when to listen to others
