First signs of spring are awakening - budding plants, raging rivers, thawing ground. In these last few weeks of winter, join us to tend to your nervous system.
It has been such a JOY and HONOUR to be back teaching yoga again after a short break. Ancient yogic practices still relevant (and essential!) for our modern nervous systems. Carve out time to practice shifting out of fight/flight/freeze and let the positive impacts ripple through your mind and body.

I was lucky enough to carve out some time on the winter solstice to sit by the fire, stretch my bod, journal a bit, and listen to the crackle.

New Class!
Designed to nourish your nervous system, this beginner friendly class is a blend of hatha yoga, restorative yoga, and yoga nidra meditation. Practice begins with gentle movement to release joints, lengthen muscles and connect to breath.
This is followed by long-held restorative postures on the ground, supported by props. The final part of class is guided Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep) meditation to unravel tension and prepare you for a good sleep. This class is the mid-week retreat you didn’t know you needed!

After spending 5 days on retreat with Jennifer Raye - Medicine and Movement at Stowel Lake Farm I feel recharged!

Hard to believe this was my tenth retreat at this lovely venue! Wonderful to join together in sangha and deepen practice with this group of yogis. Toddler Yoga is back for a new session!

Introduce your little ones to yoga early! This fun class includes breathing practices, songs, stretches, silly wiggles, and animal sounds. This class is geared towards kids aged 18 months to 5 years, but parents are encouraged to join in the fun too.

Adjust your to do list.
Lower expectations of yourself.
This little swag wreath is one example of how I’m lowering exceptions of myself this year. The last few Decembers I’ve collected branches with plans to make a gorgeous wreath. The last few Januarys that optimistic pile of branches is still sitting in a pile of the porch because I did not have time.
So this year, I grabbed a pile of branches, wrapped an elastic and ribbon around them, and voila! In 5 minutes I made this beauty and relieved the pressure of aiming for a wreath.
The best part is that I can collect new things and add to it. So far I’ve added rose hips, snow berries, rosemary, ferns, huckleberries.
Friends, this is the time of year you need to cross things off your to do list that you have not yet done. Lower expectations of yourself.
Do less.
