Before - 94 KG's Post Covid
After - 80 KG's 29th July 2023
Since the beginning of the pandemic, I have neglected to share anything related to fitness or my body. Due to the lack of access to training equipment and the loss of interest in bodybuilding, I gave up and allowed myself to gain a significant amount of body fat, while losing muscle. It was a difficult period for me, and I found myself constantly indulging in unhealthy eating habits. Even though I had been training clients and providing them with the same advice that I should have been putting into practise myself, this was something I personally couldn’t motivate myself to do.
So around 2-3 months ago, I made a conscious decision to improve my nutrition choices and committed to training consistently 4-5 days a week, with the additional activity of playing basketball once a week. Slowly but surely I began to see progress and now I’m 14kgs down and have managed to regain a lot of the muscle that I had lost during lockdown.
I discovered that dieting became much simpler this time around and I still allowed myself to enjoy the foods I desired, just in moderated portions. I gave up the idea of having cheat meals or a cheat day, and maintained consistency with specific food groups that worked with my daily calorie intake, as well as creating healthy recipes and takes on dishes that were macro friendly.
I am finally at a stage where I look forward to cooking and planing my training schedules for the week, and it’s something that I’m excited to share with others who are stuck in a slump just like I was.
