There’s a big difference between being a guideess and being a guru.
A guideess creates space.
A guru gives answers.
That distinction matters a lot to me.
When a woman comes to one of my workshops or retreats, I don’t believe it’s my job to tell her what she should do with her life.
I don’t know whether she should leave her job.
I don’t know whether something in her relationship needs to change.
And I certainly don’t know what her next chapter should look like.
Those aren’t my answers to give her.
What I can do is create the conditions where she has enough space away from the usual noise to hear herself more clearly.
To notice what she’s been carrying.
To question what still fits.
To recognise parts of herself she may have lost touch with.
And to listen to what she actually wants now.
That’s the kind of facilitation I believe in.
The goal isn’t for a woman to leave trusting me more.
It’s for her to leave trusting herself more.
That belief sits underneath the way I’m creating Barefoot Bliss in Zanzibar.🩵
Of course we’ll practise yoga, enjoy incredible surroundings, eat beautiful food, laugh and experience Zanzibar.
But there will also be space where no one needs anything from you.
Space to reflect.
Space for honest conversation.
Space to hear yourself without someone else telling you what the answer should be.
For me, that’s what makes a retreat more than simply a beautiful few days away.
If Barefoot Bliss sounds like the kind of retreat you’ve been looking for, you can find all the details below....
