Exciting weekend with an exciting bunch of young men. A few of us were making our VP boys 1st debut as we suffered a big defeat. Howeve, a serious fight back from the boys saw us clinch the 50 over game by 8 runs.

Some exciting cricket played by both schools.

Thank you to Union for being wonderful hosts.

The evolution of cricket has been an interesting one. From formats, coloured clothing and balls, to the number of deliveries and the very structure of the game; from how cricket is played to how money is made from it, the list goes on and on.
Yet, through all these changes, one thing remains true: cricket continues to evolve.
Whether or not that change has always been good is a topic for another day.

However, the evolution of cricket has not been kind to the art of wicket keeping. Over the years, we have continued to see fewer and fewer genuine wicket keepers. Even in practice sessions, wicket keepers can often find themselves forgotten, with little specialised attention given to one of the most demanding roles on the field.

To help bridge that gap for young, aspiring wicket keepers, The Cricket Scholar Cricket Coaching (TCS) has teamed up with Warriors Women’s captain and wicketkeeper-batter, Z**i Mdebuka.

Z**i is an experienced cricketer who has played at the highest level for over 10 years and holds a CSA Level 2 coaching qualification.

Together, we will be starting a Wicket Keeper Care Programme, aimed at giving wicket keepers the specialised attention, guidance and development they deserve.

To book a specialised wicket keeping session with either Coach Lu or Coach Z**i, WhatsApp 069 116 1829.

And this is only the beginning...
Stay tuned for some exciting giveaways and our specialised wicket keeping clinics. 🧤🏏

The one thing I learnt as someone who tried to open the batting for years is : You gotta make things happen even when things aren't going your way.

Our chat here was mainly about 2 things.

1.Ignoring how we felt, nobody really cares about that. The team needs runs, and if you're still out there then your focus has to be on finding ways to score some runs regardless of how we feel or look. As batters we tend to be so overly concerned about how we look while batting. However, we all know nobody really remembers that over runs.

2.You never have enough time to sulk or you simply never have time to sulk. The game goes on!! As long as you're still out there batting, forget about sulking. The game isn't going to wait for you to sulk to satisfaction. We need to be stronger mentally to a point that even when things aren't going our way we still forge our way forward.

We later agreed that it's not like sulking helps anyway.

Our batting session got much much better after Mila and I both agreed that there's no time to sulk
