Race Brief: Uthando Youth Cycle Academy Takes on Cape Town! ๐ดโโ๏ธ๐จ
Big congratulations to our riders who traveled to the Mother City to compete in the prestigious 109km Cape Town Tour road race. Representing the academy on a massive national stage, both riders showed incredible grit and determination against thousands of competitors.

Sihle Ningi
Time: 3 hours 10 minutes
Overall Finish: 1,064th out of 18,062 riders
Category: 64th out of 288 (Under 19s)
Sihle cracked the top 6% of the entire field and proved he is a force to be reckoned with in the U19 category!
Lundi Kakana
Overall Finish: 165th out of 18,031 riders
Category: 42nd out of 500 (Under 23s)
An elite performance from Lundi, finishing within the top 200 riders overall in one of the world's largest timed races!
We are incredibly proud of how these young men represented the academy and our community. Their hard work in training is clearly paying off on the road. ๐ฟ๐ฆ

From the grueling 80km endurance test to the high-speed 30km sprint, these boys showed exactly what hard work and discipline look like. We are beyond proud of their grit and determination on the Addo trails!

Weekends are meant for long rides. That's exactly what we did with our boys. Including racing Masters and Ladies event on Saturday.
The Herald Cycle Tour preparations are coming nicely.

Day 5
Today was the longest ride ever done by our boys. Cycled from Theescombe via Cape Road, down and up Van staden, Hankey, Humansdorp, Jeffreys Bay, back again via Van Staden. Down Draaifontain via Maitlands back up Welckme Avenue.
I will never ask for more from our riders, they have out done themselves. Keep on training gents๐๐

Day 4
The boys did close to 85km today in preparation for big day tomorrow.

Day 3 December training Camp:
The boys did the Lorie around Gamtoos river back again via Maitalands, Marine drive. Ended up back to their base camp in Theescombe. It's so nice to see them smile with their ride.
These training camps are needed by our disadvantage children. Learning not only riding their bikes but building team work and looking after each other back.

Today the boys did two social riders in one day. Started at Coimbra Cycles christmas ride 6am group. Thanks to Coimbra Cycles for the coffee and muffins.
We proceed further to another ride, The green cycle tour starting at Happy Valley. Great project to be involved with. We are so looking forward to vision 2030.
