Simon Barry will be taking on an incredible 30km swim challenge to help raise funds for a young South African athlete who has earned the honour of representing our country🇿🇦
At the Junior Open Water Swimming Championships in Santa Fe, Argentina from 3–6 September 2026. 🇿🇦

*Behind every athlete selected to wear the South African colours are years of sacrifice, discipline, commitment, and determination. Early mornings, long training sessions, missed social events, and countless hours in the water all lead to a moment like this.*

Unfortunately, selection does not always come with the funding needed to get there.

International competition brings significant expenses, including flights, accommodation, transport, competition fees, and essential support costs. For many athletes and their families, these costs can be overwhelming despite years of hard work and achievement.

That is why this fundraising challenge matters.

Every donation, no matter the amount, helps turn an opportunity into reality. Every contribution helps ensure that a deserving South African athlete can stand proudly on the international stage and compete against the world’s best.
