“Weight training stunts growth.” 🚫 Let’s put this myth to rest.
Appropriately designed and supervised strength training does not stunt a child’s growth.
There is no evidence that properly coached resistance training makes children shorter or prevents their bones from developing normally.
In fact, when strength training is age-appropriate, progressively programmed and properly supervised, it can be a valuable part of a young person’s physical development — helping them build strength, improve movement skills and develop stronger foundations for sport and everyday life.
The key isn’t avoiding weights.
It’s learning how to use them properly.
At FFTA, we prioritise:
🏋🏼 Technique before load
📈 Gradual, appropriate progression
👥 Small groups & hands-on coaching
💪 Building strong movement foundations
🧠 Teaching young people how and why they train
Children shouldn’t be treated like miniature adults in the gym — but they also don’t need to be kept away from strength training.
Good coaching matters. Good programming matters. Strength training does not stunt growth.

MEET THE COACH 🤝
Bailey is the Co-Owner of Fit Future Training Academy and brings more than eight years of experience across the health and fitness industry.
She holds a degree in Physical Activity and Health and has worked extensively as a personal trainer, nutritionist and group fitness manager. Her career began in dance and cheerleading coaching, where she first discovered her passion for supporting children and teenagers.
Bailey also has a competitive bodybuilding background, and is always setting goals and taking on new sporting challenges 💪🏼
She is deeply committed to helping young people develop positive relationships with movement, nutrition and their overall wellbeing from an early age.
Bailey strongly believes in the power of prevention — both physically and through lifestyle education — and is passionate about equipping children with the knowledge and confidence they need to make healthy choices that last a lifetime.
At FFTA, Bailey ensures every student feels seen, heard and supported. She leads with compassion, energy and attention to detail, helping create an environment where young people feel empowered to challenge themselves, build confidence and strengthen their self-esteem.
Bailey also leads the academy’s educational curriculum, developing resources and guidance for students, parents and the coaching team to ensure every child receives a consistent, meaningful and impactful experience.
Her passion for education, confidence-building and long-term development plays a central role in the culture and vision of FFTA. 💪🏼
EXERCISE FOR ALL CHILDREN & TEENS SHOULD BE MANDATORY..
The same way we make our children take a shower, brush their teeth or do their school work. Any type of exercise should fall into the same bracket
- When they are young throw into as many different sports or activities that you have access too and that are in your budget
- Find 1 or 2 they most enjoy
- If they try refuse to do anything, make them!
We have a responsibility, don’t let your children fight you on it: “hard times now, easy times later”
SMART PHONE STUDY BREAKDOWN FOR CHILDREN & TEENS
Let us know your biggest struggles when it comes to your decision as a parent whether to buy your kid a smart phone or not.

MEET THE HEAD COACH 🤝
Henry is the Founder and Co-Owner of Fit Future Training Academy, bringing with him a wealth of experience as a personal trainer and former Sports Scientist with Crystal Palace FC’s U23s and first-team environment.
Through his work with both adults and young athletes, Henry recognised a significant gap in fitness education. Many adults wished they had started earlier, while many young people lacked access to the knowledge, structure and guidance needed to build confidence and thrive physically.
This realisation became the foundation of FFTA.
Henry’s vision was simple: to make expert fitness education accessible from a young age, helping the next generation grow up stronger, more capable and better equipped for a healthier future.
As a father, Henry is personally invested in the lifelong benefits of physical activity and healthy habits. His desire to give his own son the strongest possible foundation continues to fuel his passion for creating the same opportunities for other children.
At FFTA, Henry leads the academy’s exercise programming and oversees the coaching team, ensuring every session is structured, purposeful and delivered to the highest standard.
He is also committed to the ongoing development of our coaches, helping them continue to learn, grow and provide every student with the support they need to progress safely and confidently.
Henry’s experience, leadership and belief in long-term youth development are at the heart of everything we do at FFTA. 💪🏼
At FFTA, we’re not just building stronger bodies. 🧡
We’re supporting the physical, mental AND social wellbeing of our students — because all three matter when developing confident, capable young people.
🏋🏼 PHYSICAL
Our students follow structured strength programmes and track their progress week after week. The goal? Not to compete with each other, but to compete against themselves, get stronger and see what they’re capable of.
🧠 MENTAL
Consistent training teaches so much beyond exercise — confidence through achievement, discipline from showing up, resilience when things get difficult and learning to regulate emotions when things don’t go their way.
🫂 SOCIAL
Our classes give young people a positive environment to train alongside others, share equipment, communicate and encourage each other.
Younger students look up to our older students — and eventually, they become the role models for the next generation coming through. ❤️
And not every child at FFTA is an athlete. They don’t need to be.
We’re creating a space where young people can get stronger, grow in confidence, build relationships and develop healthy habits for life.
Physical. Mental. Social. 🏋🏼🧠🫂
Creating a fitter future for the next generation. 🧡

What is constant social media use doing to the developing brain? 📱🧠
The pre-teen and teenage years are a critical period of brain development.
During this time, the brain is still refining areas involved in:
• Attention and decision-making
• Emotional regulation
• Impulse control
• Identity and self-esteem
• Sensitivity to approval and rejection
Emerging research has found associations between heavier social-media use and differences in the development of the brain’s grey matter and cortical thickness.
Habitual checking has also been linked with changes in how young brains respond to social rewards and punishments — including likes, comments, approval and exclusion.
But this conversation needs balance.
Social media does not automatically “damage” every child’s brain, and the science cannot yet prove that it directly causes these changes.
How it is used matters.
The amount of time matters.
The content matters.
And most importantly, what it begins to replace matters:
🏃 Physical activity
😴 Sleep
🤝 Face-to-face connection
📚 Concentrated learning
🌱 Time spent developing real-world skills
At Fit Future Training Academy, we believe young people need regular opportunities to put their phones down, move their bodies, overcome real challenges and build confidence through genuine achievement.
Social media provides instant feedback.
Strength training teaches patience, focus, discipline and earned confidence.
What do you think?
Are we taking the impact of social media on young people seriously enough — or is the concern being exaggerated?
