Are you “reaching” when you swim? Is it creating the advantage that you believe it is?
This Mastery Monday we want to share 3 things from our weekend clinic that that changed how swimmers moved through the water.
1. Nose breathing matters
After a diaphragmatic breath, exhaling through your nose improves body position. Simple shift, immediate effect.
2. Your kick may be getting in the way
A well-connected flutter sets up better body position and supports your joint mechanics. We are sending the water back (not down!) in order to travel forwards.
3. Arms aren’t separate attachments
When you engage the scapulae, your arms work as part of your whole body - not separate pieces. This is where the frame actually connects.
Swimmers came in wanting to be more efficient and faster. That happens with a connected frame.
