It was a family affair on the weekend at our Men’s Div 1 match, with Thiago sharing the pitch with his son Luan in his first official senior game, a special occasion for both and a great moment for the club!

Italo Stars 3–4 Byron Bay

Byron made it two wins from two with a thrilling 4–3 victory over Italo Stars, taking home a perfect six points to start the campaign.

The match didn’t start in Byron’s favour, conceding early to go 1–0 down. The response was immediate - Lachlan fired in a quick equaliser to steady things. Byron looked the better side for large periods of the first half but gifted Italo two soft goals, going into the break 3–1 behind.

The second half was a different story. Byron lifted the intensity and began to control the game. The comeback started when Taha tapped in after Rob’s header: 3–2.

Italo grew frustrated as Byron kept pressing, with some heavy challenges creeping in. They remained a threat on the counter, but Reece stood tall and protected his goal when it mattered.

With 20 minutes to go, Reece launched a long ball forward and Rob showed composure to lift it over the keeper for 3–3.

With just five minutes left, Byron found the winner. A perfectly timed run from Noah onto a precise pass from Thiago split the defence, and he finished calmly to seal the 4–3 win.

Two games, six points. Go the Bay!
