WHAT. A. WAY. TO. END. THE SEASON! 🏆🏆🏆🏆

A clean sweep of all four Grand Finals at Oakes Oval yesterday — an unprecedented achievement in the club’s history and, quite possibly, FFNC history. What a day for Byron Bay FC.

Men’s 3rds — A crazy 5-5 thriller after extra time, before the boys held their nerve in the penalty shootout. Pointscore + Grand Final champions! 🏆

Men’s Championship — A hard-fought 2-1 win over Pottsville Beach, with Rhys Nelson’s late penalty proving the difference. Tom Cohen was outstanding in goals and deservedly took out Player of the Match.

Men’s Premier — Down early, reduced to 10 men and trailing the reigning pointscore champions Alstonville. The boys turned it around in the second half, equalised late and found the winner in extra time. Marcus Gibbs was immense in goals and took out Player of the Match. 🏆

Women’s Premier — A stunning 2-0 victory over reigning premiers Pottsville Beach, with Lucy Hastings opening the scoring and the girls never looking back. Captain Lucy took out Player of the Match. 🏆

FOUR TEAMS. FOUR GRAND FINALS. FOUR WINS.

A huge congratulations to every player, coach and supporter who made the trip to Lismore and helped make yesterday so special.

Our dear mate and longtime Byron Bay FC comrade, Gabe, recently took a nasty hit during a soccer match against Casino on Saturday, snapping both bones in his shin. True to form, he took it like an absolute champ.

Thanks to the incredible work of the ambos—who got to him with the green whistle within about an hour—he was safely transported to Lismore Base Hospital. He underwent surgery yesterday, is currently recovering well, and is hopefully heading home tomorrow!

While he is on the mend, he is still in a lot of pain and faces a long road ahead. It will be at least 8 weeks before he can stand, work, and fend for himself.

As the owner and head barber at Jack the Snipper in the Industrial Estate, Gabe’s injury puts him completely out of work for the foreseeable future. Being unable to stand means his business and livelihood will take a significant financial hit during this time.

On top of being unable to work, Gabe won’t be able to cook, clean, or manage daily tasks on his own, meaning he will need plenty of support from our community while he heals.

Gabe is always there for our community, and now it’s our turn to be there for him. Please consider giving whatever you can to help ease the financial burden and provide Gabe with what he needs to get through his recovery.

Every little bit helps. Thank you so much for your generosity and support! Link in bio
