Happy global running day! I’ll be celebrating today with a one hour easy run after my strength sesh! Thankful for all the amazing people i have met through running. The random conversations at start and finish lines. And the friends I get to run with at different events. Thankful for the job I do that gives me the knowledge to train and fuel well so that I can continue to run and race. 30 years of running and hopefully many many more to come!

Sh*t’s getting real now! Weeks are over 50km and on the way up. Long runs are getting longer. Tempo and speed work are more frequent. So calories are going UUUP to support the extra load and intensity. I take a lot of pride in how I fuel for training and recovery and have done for a few years now. I often talk to women who are either constantly drained or injured often. My first question is never ‘how much are you training’, it’s ’how are you eating’. Are you fuelling your training? Do you know how to fuel for recovery? Do you know how much to eat and drink during long runs? I’m a personal trainer, run coach and sports nutritionist. And I practice what I preach. If you need help to figure it all out, get in touch.

One of the wonderful organisers of the Mother’s Day Classic sent me this pic of me having a chat on stage with the MC on the day. I get asked why this event means so much to me. It started because it felt like the right cause to support but it has evolved massively over the years. Since I started this in 2014, the number of women I have known affected by breast cancer has grown exponentially and not all outcomes have been good. Since I became a mum, it has evolved further. I went to hell and back several times to make Chloe. The thought of anything happening to me and not being around to raise her is just too much. So why do I do this? Because the statistics are against us and this has to change. Because no child should have to grow up without a mother. Because we need to stop cancer killing us. Because our b***s do so much good and should not be the cause of our demise. I never fully appreciated them until they fed and nourished my little girl for her first 12 months. So I will keep doing this event year after year. As a participant. As a team leader. As a community ambassador. Because change needs to happen and it won’t happen without more funding for more research.

What a perfect morning for the Mother’s Day Classic. Beautiful conditions for a run and a walk. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far and thanks to The Lovely Jubblies for being a part of it. Every year I am joined by an awesome group of friends for this event and I am so grateful to have everyone there.
I had no goal this morning other than to run 10k after getting the red eye back from Bali, so super happy to finish in under an hour.
Donations are still open if you feel so inclined ❤️

I jumped on the latest chatGPT thing which is ‘write an unhinged bio of me’. Pretty accurate? I think so! Haha

Today I had the privilege of speaking to the year 6 girls at Canberra Girls Grammar about the and my involvement with it. I’m proud to be a community ambassador for this event and grateful for the chance to do some speaking to promote awareness. In Australia, 61 people are diagnosed every day with breast or ovarian cancers. 12 people die every day from breast or ovarian cancer. We HAVE to change these statistics. If you can spare even $5, I would love your support to keep raising funds for research so that one day no person has to suffer, and no family has to lose another member to these awful cancers.
I have run this event in all kinds of conditions, this year I will be adding ‘jet lagged’ to the list! But I’m committed to this cause and my team The Lovely Jubblies.
