Cool initiative... read on....

Cricket Australia, in partnership with the Lord’s Taverners, annually hosts the National Cricket Inclusion Championship (NCIC), which incorporates both Blind Cricket and Intellectual Disability Cricket tournaments.

The ACT has a Blind Cricket team participating at the NCIC, and is proposing to establish an Intellectual Disability Cricket Team to compete for the first time at the National Cricket Inclusion Championship under Cricket ACT banner, to be held in January 2027.

To support this initiative, Cricket ACT is calling for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from individuals with an intellectual disability who would like to be considered for selection. Interested participants must have an existing assessment or be willing and eligible to undertake one.

All interested players, families, and support networks are warmly invited to attend an information and come‑and‑try session:
Date: Saturday, 30th May 2026
Time: 09:00am – 12:00pm
Location: Cricket ACT Indoor Nets

This session will provide an opportunity to learn more about the program, meet staff, and participate in cricket activities in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Plenty of love floating around after a 196 run partnership today between Jack Sanson and Oli Blaney Brown. Both notching up a 💯 in the last session. The dee’s finishing up the day on 4/264.

Nice to see Minister Steel down at the Deakin fields talking improvements and how we might fit into future planning.
It's a busy sports precinct shared with our mates from touch footy and netball and safe driving and parking, grounds condition, lighting and future fields were all discussed.

The playing fields at Deakin are always a hive of activity with touch football, cricket, netball and football (soccer).

It was great to hear from the local clubs about their needs as we undertake planning in this corridor as part of the development of the Southern Gateway Planning and Design Framework.

As more people live in Woden and the Inner South, the ACT Government is planning for provision of social and recreational infrastructure required for sustainable communities, as well as improvements to the landscape, streets and public spaces.
