D**king Masterclass ✅ Are you trying to hit the ball on the full at the kitchen? It may not feel natural for some and the time between shots may not allow you to get in position to hit the ball as a volley… But if there is a tactical reason behind this decision you are more inclined work on this concept.

Sounds easy… but are you reaching into the kitchen when the opportunity presents itself?

Coaching Corner… From our new venue at Gungahlin College (what a great day to be indoors ☔️ )

D**k with the paddle tip down👇 A bit of Pickleball D**king 101 but we still have very talented players struggling with this concept so the first activity with a new coaching group is to establish this practice from the first minute 🕕

We are excited to start educating Canberra with some Pickleball know how… It’s been too long where no one has been able to teach the game (and that’s the beauty of Pickleball as you can play from day dot) but as we learn more as a community, improve as a Territory we need professionals that understand player development to really step up and set the standard!

Great first session team! Can’t wait for next week ✨

Not long until the three part Masterclass series kicks off Wednesday June 3rd 🏓🎓

Robbie is the current State Champion, NPL Canberra Comets Captain and not only a tennis coach for over 20 years, he has completed higher educational studies in Sports Coaching. There is no Pickleball professional more educated in player and community development in Canberra than Robbie.

What limits Robbie is time with managing both Pickleball & Tennis communities… However, in June he gets to do what he does best and educate our club players.

Don’t miss out on the Masterclasses on Wednesday at Amaroo School… If you cannot make Wednesday Robbie will be running a weekly Tuesday coaching block in Gungahlin College.

For more information send us a DM or visit the Pickleball Canberra website.

We are excited to have sponsoring our Canberra Comets for Round 5 & 6 👩🏻‍⚕️🤝☄️

In order to give ourselves every chance to play at our best our players to hike up the Hume Highway every round a day earlier to stay in Sydney.

Over 6 rounds the cost to participate adds up we rely on our supporters to make the campaign possible and affordable. The Canberra Physio Clinic not only supports our team but have been working hard up Comets Captain Robbie on his injured hip so he can represent Canberra proudly on game day (it’s almost at full strength) 🙏

At the seasons halfway mark the top of table Canberra Comets enjoy a midseason break to get their body right and get back in the training court for a couple of weeks.

We understand the talent of the league so we need to get to the next level to maintain our top position on the ladder 🪜

We look forward to working with The Canberra Physio Clinic through the Comets with even more exciting news to come from this partnership for the Pickleball Canberra community 👀

Comets lead the NSW D2 Conference winning both matches in Round 3 ☄️🪜

Alexis & Monique contiune to form a solid duo winning all 6 games for the round 💁‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️

Captain Robbie made a successful return partnering Kane who is stepping in for the injured Jarred. With a maiden Men’s doubles win and going perfect in the Mixed doubles it was a solid performance from all four Comet players 🌱

At the halfway point the players from the Capital put themselves in a commanding lead to qualify for Melbourne however the job is not finished. Every team is quality and we need to go another level if we were to remain in top at seasons end!

You’ve been asking for coaching and we hear you 🎧 We are excited to announce a weekly coaching session Tuesday evenings at Gungahlin College 📚

It’s time for Canberra to get Pickleball educated 🎓 With over 20+ years coaching tennis & sports coaching university degrees I am more than qualified to run pickleball coaching programs and I know they would be of the highest quality.

However, before I started passing on information to our Canberra players I firstly wanted to be at a high enough playing level so I am able to coach anyone and everyone. There is nothing worst than a coach not able to demonstrate the proper techniques or explain tactics.

Secondly, I wanted to learn & trial everything for myself, including what is the best practices for players who yield a racquet and their successful transition to pickleball (lots of tennis egos come to our sport - including myself when I first started and think they can take over right away).

Now I’ve ticked these boxes, my energy is starting to shift to our Canberra players education, so Tuesday evenings at Gungahlin will be the first of many coaching programs coming to the Pickleball Canberra family!

Look forward to seeing you there 💙💛
