BGCC paddlers were busy across several events this weekend, including the Canoe Polo Summer Series in Melbourne. BGCC paddlers featured across three divisions, including a first place in Women's and second in Division 2. Bane Burr also topped the overall goalscorering, whilst our Open Men finished 5th.

BGCC has a range of exciting white-water sessions coming up. Whether new to moving water, or seeking to refine your skills, there's an activity to join for all levels of paddlers. Registrations for the Intro Program close soon, so don't miss out!

A great weekend at Molonglo Reach, with the Club/ Canoe Polo ACT hosting the third leg of the Summer Series circuit. Our A Grade team continued this season's dominance, winning 3/3 of the events.

BGCC athletes are already kicking off 2026 on a high, with 2025 BGCC Most Improved Female Paddler, Emilie McKenna winning an equal silver at last weekend's Paddle Australia Canoe Freestyle National Championships👏👏

BGCC headed S to Nagambie to participate in the 2025 GP1Sprint Regatta. Margi won the 5000 m 65+ as well as the 500 m and 200 m. Louise Yabsley won the 40+ 500m and came 2nd in the 200 m. Honorary BGCCer and member of TrainSmart, Kim Ankenbauer came 2nd to Margi in all 3 events. It was a really enjoyable regatta with Olympians, World Champions both sprinters and marathoners mixing it up on and off the water. Soooo much fun.
