🌧️🎾 RAIN? NO PROBLEM FOR COACH ABHI!

This morning Melbourne turned it on with some seriously heavy rain at East Coburg Tennis Club…

But the hardest working coaches in the Southern Hemisphere were certainly not going to be deterred. 💪🎾

When the weather changes, our coaches and customers adapt.
When conditions get tough, they find solutions.
When others might call it a day… Elite Tennis coaches keep working, keep creating and keep the players moving.

A little Melbourne rain was never going to stop us. 😄

The courts might have been wet, but the energy certainly wasn’t!

Elite Tennis Academy at East Coburg Tennis Club – still going strong! 💚🎾

🎾 COACH DEVELOPMENT | BETTER THAN WE WERE YESTERDAY 🎾

Today we had former student, former coach and now our Chief of Training & Staff Development, Philip, lead our fortnightly professional development session — both off and on court.

We started with off-court professionalism, covering the little things that make a big difference:
✅ Uniform and presentation
✅ Punctuality and set-up
✅ Wearing a watch and managing time
✅ Meet and greets
✅ Phone use
✅ Attendance and follow-up

We then moved into on-court professionalism, focusing on:
✅ Duty of care
✅ Recording incidents and following up with families
✅ Being vocal and giving clear instructions
✅ Providing relevant feedback that connects the skill to the activity
✅ Encouraging players when meaningful technical feedback isn’t required

From there we worked through lesson structure and term planning, before finishing with our growing activity bank for every stage — including warm-ups, set-ups, drills, activities and progressions.

A great session around consistency, professionalism, engagement and continual improvement.

A huge thank you to Philip for the preparation, care and attention he continues to give our coaches and the business.

The goal is simple — help every coach be better than they were yesterday. 💙🎾
